6 SEC schools.

Ouch.

Don't forget Conference Revenue Sharing, those Conference Bowl Tie-ins that have to filled, and least we forget the Coaches Bonuses for finishing ranked.

Koffee Annan has The Coaches Association on his short list for candidates of integrity to run the next U.N. Oil for Food program.

Could 1 meet 2 in Austin when the Horns play the Buckeyes?

I'm sure that was by accident, too.

It was surely no accident, but they are deserving as well. They were the two best teams on the field at the end of the season. I think they both deserve the top rankings until someone knocks them off. Obviously, with them squaring off, that won't take long.

I will take that. Top 5 to start the season.

My only question can Oklahoma lose spots in the rankings before the season even starts? I know this poll was taken before all hell broke loose in Norman.

Ironic that miami and fla. state are 10 and 11. Didn't think they deserved to be ranked that highly to start the year, but seeing how they play each other right away on a monday night should help hype that game even more.

This may sound bitter, I'm really not that mad about it anymore, but I realy hope out of all those Florida schools, that Florida and Urban Meyer do the worst, I really hope they fail to meet expectations again this year. Guess my dislike of Florida goes back to the steve spurrier days, but I would LOVE to see them fall flat again this year. I think they are still overrated, Iowa got robbed in that bowl game, no question in my mind that it was a blown call that did Iowa in also like what happened with us in our bowl game. Anyway, I dislike all of the florida teams, but Florida has passed the other two schools up lately.

4 MORE WEEKS TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As long as we we win we'll be in the big game, preseason rankings matter more for a team like WVU... Less than one month!!!!

I don't believe a lack of focus will be a problem with this team. I gotta believe Weis will have these guys focused on the game and to ignore rankings. Like lattedatte said, pre-season rankings don't really mean anything to most of teams out there. I know this is a pipe dream and a person probably has a better chance of winning the lottery, but lets hope OSU is looking ahead to its game against Texas and suffers a HUGE upset loss to NIU on their first game. Wouldn't that be just outstanding!!!!!!! GO NIU!!!!!!!!!!!

if all goes well and the irish can finish 4-0.
and the osu beats UT
then psu beats osu
ND could ride out the season in the # 1 spot, and if USC is in the top 5....itll be one of those awesome games from back in the day. I love college football and love ND. Best rankin for them since 92'.

GO IRISH

getting out of september without a loss will be the hurdle in their season that is for sure, its going to be tough. Been hearing how alot of "experts" have said ND's schedule is very easy. It isn't that easy, road games at Mich St and Georgia Tech, depends on which team shows up. ND is always one of the two games that State gets up for and Georgia Tech will be tough, they did beat Auburn at their place to start the year last year. And the military acadamies always play great sound football and are always tough. We'll see how "easy" this schedule was at the end of the year, but I am just worried about that first month. Make it out of that month, we will have the best shot out of anyone else.

the first 4 games will definie our season. I see it as, if we can get through them...then we could be 11-0 goin into usc which would be unreal. i hope usc is a contender too just bc of that game.

Yeah, he's been doing that for years. An odd duck, that Steve Spurrier.
