Okay guys... I know everyone has different musical tastes, but what are some of the songs/albums that are flat out owning you right now?

Blue October - "Hate Me" or anything by Audioslave.

Hate Me is actually stuck in my head right now. Something about that song just makes me feel good. Right now, rock music in general is just really, really solid.

Alice Cooper said on a local radio show, and I agree, that it seems to have come full circle and feels like the 70s rock did. Lots of music that will be easily identified down the road to a time or place in your life.

"I'll follow you into the Dark" - Death Cab for Cutie

If you are married and you hear this song...you will be hooked too.

Tell me what you think... It's a bit melancholy, but the core message is great.

LYRICS
Love of mine some day you will die
But I'll be close behind
I'll follow you into the dark

No blinding light or tunnels to gates of white
Just our hands clasped so tight
Waiting for the hint of a spark
If heaven and hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs

If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark

In Catholic school as vicious as Roman rule
I got my knuckles brusied by a lady in black
And I held my toungue as she told me
"Son fear is the heart of love"
So I never went back

If heaven and hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs

If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark

You and me have seen everything to see
From Bangkok to Calgary
And the soles of your shoes are all worn down
The time for sleep is now
It's nothing to cry about
Cause we'll hold each other soon
The blackest of rooms

If heaven and hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs

If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark
Then I'll follow you into the dark

It's a pretty good song. Very folkish sounding. I like it.

It's different. Not bad, but not sure if it would be something I'd listen to. I'll have to give it another good listen when I can crank it up on the stereo. Using my computer speakers right now.

One band that I think is truly amazing is Thursday. Though their new album is a slight (very slight) disapointment, their past stuff is very quality rock music. Some label them as "emo", but they are mistaken.

My favorite Thursday songs (in order):
-Asleep in the Chapel (try this first)
-Between Rupture and Rapture
-This Side of Brightness
-Concealer
-Autobiography of a Nation

Another good band related to Thursday would be Thrice. Try "The Artist in the Ambulance" first.

Give Thursday a listen!

The new CD from Lostprophets, "Liberation Transmission." The new radio single by them is "Rooftops" which is pretty good, but a couple of the album cuts are better, such as "Can't Catch Tomorrow (Good Shoes Won't Save You This Time)" and "Broken Hearts, Torn Up Letters And The Story Of A Lonely Girl." (They seem to have a thing for long song titles on this album.)

By the way, this is the same band that did that ubiqitous "Last Train Home" song a couple of years ago. I actually enjoyed their previous album "Start Something" a bit more, which had "Make A Move," "Burn Burn" and "Last Summer." I've heard them compared to Hoobastank, but I think they "do Hoobastank" better than Hoobastank does. Way better. And I kinda like Hoobastank too, but anyway...

yeah i'm a huge fan of michael mann (Heat, Collateral). Although it sounds corny from first impression, i think it should be an awesome movie.
