Per EdgyTim.com. Sounds like he is excited about it, too.
ColinKSU said:Is it a ND offer they're talking about? The preview is kind of vague and I'd imagine the identity of the offer is pay info, correct?
LuckoftheIrish86 said:how realistic of a shot do we have with Hughes?. Looks like he would fit in real nicely here. Didn't he grow up a Miami fan?
polishdomer said:Nice...Jigga must be having a heart attack right now, with all of this excitement! Anyone have any paddles?
jiggafini19 said:If he does in fact have an offer, and there has been speculation for a while now as to if he does or not, then this is very good. Ultimately, he's going to end up being the running back they take in this class (There might be a second). And it won't hurt that both he and Tez Wilson would now have offers.
I still think they get Wilson and Hughes; I'm holding out hope that Stroter gets into the mix somehow.
dankus said:Yes it's an ND offer.
It's provisional based on his grades, but apparently he rocked last semester and is working his tail off, which I am very happy to see.
We have a pretty good shot.
As of right now, Miami hasn't given Hughes nor Tez Wilson any reason to believe an offer is expected and some don't expect them too. At least, that's what people are thinking on the 4HL.
ColinKSU said:That's great to hear he got an offer and looks like he wants to work to get the grades solid. He seems like a nice kid.
I'm not sure about him fitting the system, though. I mean, he seems like a battering ram, but don't we already have James Aldridge for that role? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have him because I never want to turn down a big-time player, but I'd rather have Caleb King or Armando Allen if I could only have 1 back.

scooper said:Aldridge is not a battering ram. He's only around 200 pounds. Good size for a RB, but not a big punishing runner.
What Hughes would do is open the door to land a complementary back ala Allen, Tate, Jones(if he plays RB) etc.
I'm with you on Allen. I finally watched his film a few nights ago and I am sold 100% on him. In my eyes, he's the best game breaker that may be available to ND at any position.
It would be great to punish teams with the likes of Hughes then, when they are broken, make them chase Allen around for awhile.
ColinKSU said:Oh, no doubt on that one.
I dunno, Hughes kind of reminds me of Mo Clarett , but maybe not quite as talented. I played against Mo in High School...Man...That dude was not of this Earth.
scooper said:If I may ask, where did you play your high school ball. Do we have another Ohioan on the board?
ColinKSU said:Cardinal Mooney High School (Youngstown, OH)
The "KSU" In my SN stand for Kent State, where I'm a Senior. Where are you from?
scooper said:Cincinnati, though a bit older than you.
