We've got to get this kid. I just got done watching some videos and he is going to be a force at OLB for someone, probably Ohio State if not us. Kid's favorite team growing up was Notre Dame, so we've got an in.

GET HIM AN OFFER! Stealing top tier talent from Ohio would also serious piss off OSU.

We and OSU are in about the same spot with him. An offer could come from either anytime soon. I think at one point, both were waiting on test scores. I remember reading about OSU getting those scores and him being eligible. Still, no offer.

Massillon is Buckeye country through and through. It is the birthplace of Paul Brown's coaching career. They love their HS football, though and are maybe the most loyal HS fans anywhere. It would be fun to have some of them on our side.

That's why I was tickled to see Notre Dame listed as his favorite team.

I wonder if Harrison Smith didn't get Dailey's offer.

Penn State is in there, too for Dailey. Smith is another one of those athlete guys that ND seems to be seeking out this year. He said he prefers to play safety because he feels he has more space to be able to make plays. I like that. Sounds like he wants to be able to go out and "get some" and feels safety gives him the best chance to get as much as he can.

I have said that the three LB I want to join Nagel are Dailey, Brian Smith and Martez Wilson. Dailey gets to the ball like a missle. A tremendous hitter.

If you want to see what Massillon Football is all about, check out the documentary "Go Tigers!". Without a doubt one of the best HS football docs I've ever seen. Did a paper on it in grad school.

Nah, I think Harrison is being brought in as a safety, whereas Dailey wants to play OLB. Both have said as much in current articles.

Thanks, I hadn't heard that. If Smith's reported speed is accurate, he could be a heat seeker at S.

I've played Massilon at Massilon. Wow, what an experience. Although I was a jr and only a backup, it was one of the highlights of my high school years. We beat them, for the record, with 13 seconds left. 20,000 fans went instantly silent.

Dailey is reportedly going to be at ND's camp on June 3. If he performs, I think an offer follow shortly thereafter.

From a free Scout article:

Andrew Dailey of Massillon (Ohio) Washington is a technician and he caught the eyes of everyone who was watching... Dailey impressed Ben Barrick of Competitive Edge Sports liked what he saw from Dailey. “The kid is a technician,” Barrick said. “He is one of the most technically sound kids I have had all-season long,” Barrick stated.

Dailey was at the Notre Dame camp and reports that things went very well. He said his top 2 are Penn State and Notre Dame. He also said Notre Dame was supposed to get back to him this week to let him know where he stands.

Depending on how this camp went and who gets offers, there could be a slew of verbals coming in the next couple of weeks:

Dailey, Brian Smith, Stroter, Hughes. Dailey and Smith would pretty much lock down the linebacker position.

I think if they offer Dailey, he would go to Notre Dame. I am sure of that.

I believe this is the case with both he and Brian Smith. With those four LB in the fold, can they take both Ben Martin AND Martez Wilson? At this point, I'm not so sold on Martin anymore. Then again, taking 4 DE wouldn't really bother me much either.

Kid named Irish and Penn State as his leaders. He raves about his Irish visit and refers to the LB coach as "my coach."

Good kid. He'll do well on the next level.

Rivals is reporting that Dailey has picked up an offer from Florida.

I hope we get this kid. It'd be nice to have good linebackers. Or any linebackers.

Not trying to start a rumor...just a really bad joke I couldn't resist.

Dailey has named Penn State as his leader, which would include schools who have offered and who have not.

Rumor has it that Dailey has picked up a conditional offer.

I wonder if this was the result of the "heart to heart" he had with the coaching staff.

My question is this: Is a conditional offer from ND worth more to some kids than a no holds barred offer from a BCS conference school?

I doubt anything about Dailey's offer from PSU or Florida is condtional.

I'd still love to land this kid. For one, I think he can be a player. Two, it helps gain a stronger foothold in NE Ohio. Massilon puts out talented kids.

From what BGI is saying, Much of what happens with Dailey will depend on what Donald and or Martez Wilson ultimately decides on.

Dailey might need to get over some academic hills as well similar to that of Robert Hughes.

If you're Andrew Dailey, do you consider this "waiting list" offer a slap in the face?
