Lions release Jahvid Best

The ‪#‎Lions‬ have announced the release of RB Jahvid Best. Says Best in a press release, “I want to thank the Detroit Lions organization for drafting me and giving me an opportunity to fulfill my dream and play in the National Football League.

"My time as a member of the Lions was a very special time in my life. My teammates, the members of the organization, the Lions fans and the people of Detroit will hold a special place in my heart. I’ll always be a Lion."

Sad ending for him but it's best for his long-term.

I think we all knew it but his career is over I believe is the main point.

Best joins Billy Simms, Bo Jackson, Greg Cook and Robert Edwards as former NFL players whose careers ended far too soon. Best totaled 1,042 yards from scrimmage with 58 catches and six total touchdowns as a rookie.

Just looked him up. Didn't know he had a concussion. That sucks. I was wondering why there was a thread about him being released but after doing some digging, I get it.

Serious talent, sorry that this is a part of a game I have enjoyed all my life, wish him nothing but the best, and hope he gets good honest advice about his situation.

I always rooted for him because he was so fun to watch in college at Cal. It sucks that he had so many concussions
