You would think, but the funny thing is USC is not really even recruiting him hard at all. Everything I have read he is really open and sounds like he is being truthful. He only has offers from Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Oregon and Arizona State right now.

Matthews three favorites are Oregon, Georgia Tech and Notre Dame. He has offers from all of them aside from us. He said he would be speaking with the staff soon to see if he will be getting an offer.

This is one guy I do not want. I can think of a dozen linebackers I'd rather see Notre Dame get. Nice player, but nowhere close to what ND needs and is looking for.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I can probably think of 20 off the top of my head. Plus, I have serious concerns about his height.

He came close to committing to Oregon, but Cal came into the picture. All of the Oaks Christian players should be verballed by the time their season starts. Marshall Jones is a Trojan and DB Anthony Gildon verballed to Oregon last week.

I think Notre Dame is about done at linebacker based on recent reports involving Matthews, Dailey and Brian Smith.

The reports all along said four LB's. Let's say they end with 3 (Hopefully including Martez Wilson) where does the extra spot go? Hopefully DL.

Casey gave his verbal to Oregon. They are building a nice defense up there.
