If you could hand out 3 offers to any available prospect in the country, who would they be and why? You can offer anything, but I would take into account the general Notre Dame issues: grades, admissions, etc.

Deonte Thompson - After watching video on this tape, I think this guy is a much better pure receiver than Benn. The kid has exceptional speed and quickness and showed good strength despite being smaller than Benn.

John Clay - I think the kid is the best work-horse in the 2007 class. Shows pretty good speed and quickness but with some college coaching/training I think he could improve in both thoose areas and be unstoppable.

Anothony Davis - As a basketball player, the kid has developed agility that most HS OL don't have. Needs to improve his strength a bit but when he does, I think he will be the best OL coming out of the 2007 class when we look back in 4 years.

(I know DT already has an offer but I really wish we had more interest from this kid). I know we need defensive players much more than these guys, but, these are the guys I amost enamored with.

My second three would be (if I may)

Martez Wilson, Richetti Jones, and Marvin Austin.

Don't Thompson, Wilson, Jones and Austin have offers already? If per Svoboda's guidelines, we have to account for grades, Clay and Davis would have no prayer of an offer at this point. But boy, I'd love to land the other four. Wow.

Yeah, but the way I read the opening post was to ANY available recruit. I took that to mean anyone who had not verbally committed yet. If it meant only to those who did not have a scholarship then my bad and I need to revise. I essentially read it to mean that if you could only give out 3 scholarships this year would you offer them to? Sorry if I was wrong about that.

I love the Island guys. They're not afraid to hit people and have the neanderthal football gene that makes them a little crazy.

Since we are talking about Hawaiins, I had one on my football team in high school, and he was the strongest kid I have ever gone up against. ND definetely needs to get a couple of them.

I'll go with Chris Donald at LB (Size/Speed Combo), Golden Tate (he can play RB, WR, or DB), and a power back (Clay or Robert Hughes). I feel like Brent (DT) would be a good project, but if i had three right now it would be Donald, Tate, and/or Clay/Hughes.

Runs backwords a little too much for me after he gets the ball in his hands, but he got it done so I can't really criticize.

Went to school with Mo Richardson which might be nice for recruiting him....

I agree...you can never have enough good cornerbacks. I just love to see big boys running over folks!!! Nothing says pounding the football like 225 lbs plus.

Addison Williams has verballed to South Carolina, per Jason Sapp at BGI.

Lamont Smith, CB out of Pittsburgh PA, has verballed to Colorado. Both were getting interest from ND.

I'll say this about Clay, hard worker but he had ankle probelms this past year. He is a great player and I hope to go see him play a lot more this year but I personally can't see him fitting in CW's system. Even though I would love to see a kid from my hometown playing at ND again, it's been a long time.
