After all the bullsh*t, he ends up at the school I hate more than anything else in this world. A fitting end to the Jason Kates saga.

I look forward to seeing him go up against Stewart, Carufel and Wenger.

While there is clearly talent there, Kates' main drawbacks are his lack of intensity and motivation according to those who have scouted him. That being said, he is a perfect fit for scUM.

I wish him well.

The only way he's getting past Stewart, Wenger, and/ or Carufel is if Frazer or Jones has a box of Ho Hos taped to his jersey.

Slocum is Gabe Watson's replacement. And, as of now, there are at least 5 guys (by virtue of good recruting this year) in front of him. He won't get to the field until he starts to work hard.

That being said, there are plenty of players on our squad (and many excellent recruits from this year, like Brandon Graham) who can blow past ND's OL (Brady Quinn had better get ready for LaMarr Woodley). Kates and Dorrenstein are the 3-4 players we gamble on each year by virtue of their physical skills alone.

The good news is that CW had enough common sense to realize Kates wasn't an ND type of guy. Another plus is that CW saved the scollie for next year and didn't throw it away.
