Ohio State's Tyree to miss Fiesta

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Offensive lineman Andree Tyree was suspended by Ohio State for violating team rules and will not play in the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 2.

No other details about the suspension were revealed Thursday.

Senior Tyree has played in 12 games in his career at Ohio State, including five this season.

The Buckeyes (9-2) play Notre Dame (9-2) in the Fiesta Bowl at Tempe, Ariz.

They used him a lot down the stretch at TE, or really as an extra OT. They used that unbalanced line for almost the entire Michigan game. I thought Musberger was going to have to wipe his chin after talking up that guy so much.

I actually like this strategy quite a bit, especially on the high school level for teams that don't throw it much.

I think Ohio State is going to be able to run the ball on ND a little bit. Hopefully everyone on Minter's 11 is healthy and ready to go.

Their main objective has to be to knock Troy Smith around early and often. Make him think about it....and feel it. Get Ohio State's offense off the field quick on their first drive.
