So it was brought to my attention that Saban works a lot with character named Dr. Kevin Elko. Elko helps Saban with leadership and how to inspire others. I'm sure a lot of great coaches work with, for a lack of a better word, "life coaches."

Anyone know if BK works with someone or does something similar? Or any other current great coaches for that matter Bellichick, Harbaugh etc. (already know about Wooden and PJ's work). This kinda stuff interests me.

I'm guessing this guy doesn't have his Ph.D in Ethics.

I heard this guy (Dr.Elko) on Paul Finebaum sp. the day before the game. He lives in Pennsylvania, came across like a televangelist to me.

Life coaches hire Brian Kelly.
On the Finebaum show they play this guy up like he's the doli/lama. I tell my baseball students the same thing that this expert does. It was kind of eerie hearing him spew forth much of what is very basic material. But of course in Alabama he's the secret sauce. Obviously Saban knows he needs a little life coach help as he offers 35 guys and schollies 24. This guy also does NFL work. I think it a bit over dramatic much like anything related to Alabama and the Legend of 'Lou Saban'. His main message revolves around playing for your team and dont be self centered on your results which tends to free you up for performance for the cause. They could have hired Manti Teo to deliver that message. Right now Saban could tell them to rub a cow turd and they'd buy it.

Thanks. I looked this up and listened. He is a bit evangelical but that plays in the South. He did have a couple of interesting nuggets.
