Anyone know who sings this song from one of the ND commercials (there's also a video on ND's website that I found from a link on NDnation)? Gotta get my hands on it...want it for our club's bowl watch. If that doesn't get you pumped up, I don't know what will.....
Doing some googling, I think it's by these guys but am not positive as they only list themselves as writers of the lyrics and don't mention the singer's name:
The O'Neill Brothers

I have a version and it says it is done by The Corrs.
Hmm....the audio on the O'Neill brother's site wasn't working but I found another source and it seems like the song on their CD is the correct one. Article said their CD is half of their stuff with older songs by other artists.

Sounds like the Corrs to me, however it could be an O'Neill bro if (a) he's about 11 or 12 or (b) he just got punched/kneed/kicked in the family jewels.

Been searching online (even a Corrs webboard) and can't confirm it. Searched amazon, it doesn't appear on any Corrs CD. A couple people on the Corrs board said it's mistakenly attributed to that band.

You guys that have it, what album is it on?

OK, I found it!

OK, I found it!

It's not the Corrs....it's by Cathy Richardson and is the rendition on the O'Neill brothers' CD, "Here Come The Irish"

Cathy Richardson Band website

Here Come The Irish - 2003 release
Cathy's stirring rendition of the title track "Here Come The Irish" brings grown men to tears. Available at the Hammes Notre Dame Bookstore

"Cathy was spotted on ESPN's "the Season" (9/9) singing "Here Come the Irish" at the Notre Dame pep rally."

And from a page on the Alumni site:

Here Come The Irish
lyrics written by Jim Tullio and John Scully
Sung by Cathy Richardson

Well I remember the leaves a fallin'
And far off music like pipes a callin'
And I remember the golden morning
I saw the long ranks as they were forming

And there's a magic in the sound of their name
Here come the Irish of Notre Dame

The pilgrims follow by the sacred waters
And arm in arm go the sons and daughters
The drums are rolling and forward bound
They're calling spirits up from the ground

And there's a magic in the sound of their name
Here come the Irish of Notre Dame

No offense but I'll go with my detective work over a downloaded mp3 where anyone could have edited (mis-edited?) the ID3 tag.:)

The song doesn't appear on any Corrs recording and people into the band say it wasn't them. With that sort of voice, it's easy to mistake one woman for another. Could just have been someone from Cherish the Ladies.

I'm gonna order the O'Neill brothers CD and then I'll have a definite answer.

It's definetly sung by Cathy Richardson. I bought the CD this year when I went to the BYU game. I want to find a way to play in over the loudspeakers at work.....they are all Buckeye supporters there

Does you office phone system have a "PAGE" function? Dial it and play the recording into the handset.

For background music and "HOLD" some offices subscribe to subscription music others just connect to a radio or CD player in which case you just plug in your device with the appropriate recording.

If you're knowledgeable about the office phone system and can gain access, you can record the substitute the tune for the blah blah blah message. You may have to ply the TI guy or office manager with drinks at the office christmas party about how cute it would be to put "Santa Claus is coming to town on the system.

You can at least record it into their office voice mail.

For brevity sake just record, "Here Come The Irish of Notre Dame". Short, sweet, to the point!

Oh yes, before you do any of these, retype your resume, post it on Monster.com, and call some headhunters. Some bosses have a sense of humor; others are tOSU fans. Or, possibly their clients are.
