I hope this is appropriate here but, I am engaging in a bit of shameless self-promotion. My first published work is NOW AVAILABLE!

If you are a person of faith, or if you know someone who is and you are looking for a gift that isn't your run-of-the-mill devotional, then here's your chance. Thanks in advance to you all, and God bless!

If you are interested in an electronic copy, please go to this link for a PDF from Payloadz.com, http://store.payloadz.com/details/13...he-desert.html (and it will soon be available on kindle and nook) or go to my WEB site if you want a soft cover, bound edition- Keith Allen Reimert.com - Home, and follow the ordering information on the Book and Devotional News page.

Thanks everybody and let me know if you have any questions.

Over two dozen sold this week. It may not make the NY Times Bestseller list, but it is pretty good to me. Thanks to anyone who ordered one or who might have even just checked out my web site! I really appreciate you! Here is a snippet of my devotional style in case anyone is interested in following along, from my blog today.

"A Mother's Love":

It’s almost time to have the baby and your husband says “we need to leave the house and go on a nights journey to Bethlehem. We’ll need to stay there for a while.”

Talk about inconvenient. On top of that, lots of people are going there for the census and by the time they get there, all the rooms are rented. A pleasant innkeeper, who also has shrewd business sense, says he’ll rent you his stable. A stable! Does your husband really expect you to give birth in this dirty, drab infection waiting to happen? But more than that, does God expect that?

God sent an angel, after all, and told her she would give birth to His son. That she would be the incubator for the Savior of the World. Yet His vision was for this child to be born in an animal filled, bug-infested den with barely any heat and a smell that is a constant reminder that indoor plumbing was not yet invented. Is this the place to bear a king?

And then it happens. She needs to push. Her time is here and nothing can stop the blessed moment from occurring. Light shines from above. The angels sing. The animals murmur. The shepherds watch.

She holds his tiny frame tight to her chest. She hears his cries and wipes the fluids from his face. What child is this? He looks normal enough, feels normal enough. This is the one who will bring peace on earth? Well, not tonight.

As she provides his first meal she stares down at his resting place tonight, the only bed Joseph could provide- the stable’s manger. Was a feeding trough really the place to rest the head of royalty, a place where animals took sustenance from slobbering mouths? What choice was there? This would be the ancient world’s answer to the king-size bed.

She holds her sleeping bundle of joy and wonders what life would have in store for him, even though she already knows it will require great sacrifice. The prophecies all agree. But that would come later. For now He was her son. The time for Him to provide His ministry and save the world was many years away. For now He was simply her baby. The greatest gift the world has ever known.

Congrats and good luck. I'm hoping to make the move from unpublished to published sometime next year. Gotta get my money's worth from my English degree.
