The recruiting process has picked up for LaRon Moore, a 5-foot-9, 179-pound athlete from Midwest City, Okla.

"Texas Tech was in for a visit [Monday night] and I had an in-home from Stanford last week," he said. "Some others are trying to come in too like Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Missouri, Colorado, LSU and Kansas. I also want to go on official visits to OSU and a couple more with my friends."

Following his official visit to Notre Dame on Oct. 15, Moore appeared ready to make a commitment to the Irish but he held off until some things played out. But that process has not yet run its course.

"Some of the things played out," he said. "But some other issues came up. We're still waiting to see how things play out. They told me not to give up but they just have to play it by ear just like me."

While Moore is taking his time during the recruiting process, he is wasting no time getting ready to make the jump from high school football to the college ranks.

"I'm working out and getting in shape for track and so I'm ready for next year," he said. "I just want to enjoy the rest of my senior year and see how things go."

AKA:

"LaRon, there are other guys we want more. But if they spurn us for Florida or USC or whoever, you're the first guy we're gonna call, buddy."

Heard this one before.

Moore Is Sorting It All Out

As high school seasons come to a close, recruiting has picked up dramatically. Not only are college coaches flying to all reaches of the nation, but recruits are taking the time off as a chance to get out and see their choices. Oklahoma prospect LaRon Moore had a great season making decisions on the field, but his next decision will likely affect the next four or five years of his life and he's taking care in making the final choice.

"Notre Dame, Texas Tech, OSU, Missouri, LSU," Moore said when asked for the schools that are after him the hardest. "Stanford, Texas Tech, Baylor, TCU, Missouri, Notre Dame are coming (for an in-home visit). LSU will be here, Texas A&M has mentioned it, and I believe Auburn is coming."

While Moore doesn't hold an offer from the Red Raiders right now, it hasn't kept him from taking interest in the Texas Tech program.

""He (Tech Coach, Seth Littrell) was here today," Moore said. "We talked about what they want me to play. They really don't know and said it was up to me. They know where they're hurting at but they said it's up to me to where I want to play. It's a nice opportunity, I like Texas Tech a lot."

Though the Midwest City prep didn't achieve a state title this season, Moore made plenty of impressions across the state tearing it up on the field on both sides of the ball.

"I had 24 receptions, 876 yards, 8 touchdowns, and on defense I had 64 tackles, 6 interceptions, and 3 caused fumbles," Moore said.

Moore maintains that he could play either corner or receiver at the next level and that his position will depend greatly on which school he chooses. Of the schools that are after his signature, Moore said that he does not have a favorite, however, he noted that Texas Tech and Notre Dame are schools that he is watching the most.

ND has no room for him and Tech hasn't even offered.

I hope he hangs in there and weighs it all out. He sounds like a nice player that just isn't getting love because of his size.

I feel really bad for the guy. It's obvious he has made up his mind to come here---but too late. That's 'gotta hurt.

While it's gotta hurt, it really should let recruits know if you want Notre Dame and Notre Dame wants you, commit. If you don't, you may not get a second chance.

Svo,

He was ready to after the SC game when he visited. Word is the staff put him on hold, not the other way around.

I don't get it because he has an offer.

He said that some issues had to get cleared up before ND would allow him to commit. It is my take that those issues were academic but I have no source for this. There may have been some character isssue that needed to be resolved. At any rate it appears to be too late.

If Young or McCoy go elsewhere, he may still have a shot.

The more depth at WR or CB, the better.
