Percy Harvin

i read in my BGI that charlie wies is making a late push at percy harvin. PH hasn't shown much interest in ND before but with CW working his magic and ND now showing the ability to really throw the ball anything could happen. i doubt he'll come to ND, but wouldn't that be something if he did.

There are so many rumors flying around now it's making my head spin.

Down time waiting for bowl games means a lot of these folks let their imaginations run wild and the start crazy stories to fire us up.

At this point in the game, ND should be zeroed in on Toryan Smith, Matt Carufel, Sam Young, Gerald McCoy and Konrad Reuland. Then Juniors.

George West has filled out his EE papers, qualified and now the decision is up to him. Perhaps if GW enrolls early, another spot will open up. I'd use that on Dan Wenger, Jason Kates or (hopefully) Butch Lewis.

I'd like some of these sites and gurus to entice me with rumors about defensive players. Mustain, Harvin, Ausberry....anyone on the other side of the ball where ND is in need?

He's looking more and more like UGA each day....or anywhere other than ND.

Who knows. I hope they're working on him.

Percy Harvin is the best WR in the 2005 recruiting class and he is uncommitted at this time. If it true that CW is making a push for him I think it is typical CW effort. He wants to feel he has pushed every button for every recruit. Harvin is a very long shot for ND but certainly worth the effort.

As Jiggs has said so many times, you just never know about these things. Perhaps CW got the word that there was still a possibility and he was willing to see.

Even if this is just a lark it shows every recruit the ND knows about them and is interested.

If, just IF, CW could land this guy he would be the catch of the class!!

All season I've been waiting for some prime time WR to sit up and take notice that CW has something special going on. Samardizja makes the SI AA list "out of nowhere". Quinn's going to NYC. Stovall suddenly is playing to his potential. A 3000 yd passer where there's never been one before, a pair of 1000 yard receivers where there's only been two 1000 yard receivers in the history of the school. And a sophomore 1000 yard rusher. Yet no burner anywhere.

He would be the icing on the cake, don.

I think it's a stretch (academically to start with) but I read it in BGI also. I started a thread on it not too long ago and while it makes things exciting I think it's dubious at best.

Keep plugging away, Charlie!

Jiggs, they'd have to make room for this guy. Some say he's the #1 PLAYER in the nation. OH well, probably nothing to this but it makes for great discussion.

6 months ago I was worried about this recruiting class when Texas already had 0ver 20 verbals. Now I am worried that some big name guys will be left out! I'll take the second "worry" any time!

It would have to take something like that happening but that's not going to happen.

The 5th years aren't the issue it's the 25 maximum. A rare problem at ND but one that hopefully will become an annual one.

Sounds like Bobby Bowden and staff sat down with Percy and Mrs. Harvin. I'm sure good 'ol Grandpa Bowden told mom he'd take care of her baby boy.
