Hostile Country out there

If you are a ND fan it is flat out hostile country out there on the boards. I have trolled a few and there is a lot of whining going on right now about their invite to the Fiesta. They just don't seem to understand the AUTOMATIC bid system. This is the bottom line, other than the Rose Bowl the BCS is about money, and a ND/OSU matchup has the ability to draw greater ratings and money than Oregon. People would rather see Brady Quinn and Troy Smith than whoever is playing QB at Oregon. They other argument that I love is they keep saying, "Well you played Navy," these people don't seem to understand the history behind the series and I would say 8-3 and a bowl team trumps 1-AA Montana, or maybe its just me. Another weak argument is that ND chooses to be an independent. Once again they don't know the history of why they are and independent. I know that I don't have the energy to try and educate these people so I won't try anymore because when I do it is usually followed with profanity and "you are going to get f@@@ing killed by OSU." Oh well.

On the contrary, I think the automatic bid system is the very thing they're complaining about. But hey, Ohio State didn't win a conference either.

Oh hey, neither did Oregon, for that matter.

Success breeds contempt.

Notre Dame is good for college football, especially when they're good.

Part of MLB's resurrection, besides steroids, was the Yankees starting another chapter of their dynasty in 1996 and winning 114 in 1998.

The hatred for the pinstripes is good for the sport. Just as the ND haters tune in to see ND lose. Too bad they've been disappointed this year and will be for some time now.

It is nice to be relevant again. Oregon's coach (Belotti) is still whining saying he didn't "understand the Notre Dame deal". Waahhhhh!! Waaahhhh!! This so funny. Hey notice how Notre Dame was ahead of Oregon in all human polls except for the Coaches Poll. There was no politicing going on there now was there? I love it. They can keep on hating and whining.

Pete Carroll is crying that the media is influencing Reggie Bush to turn pro.

All they do is cry out there in the Pac 10. Lloyd Carr should make the move out west.

Hey Pete, you moronic ass clown, the kid is good and he is going to go get paid. After a Heisman and three titles, why should he stay? To snuggle with you?

Get bent, Pete.

Poodle is ready to piss on the floor, as he's scared that his meal ticket will be going at the exact same time that ND's going to put the annual smackdown on the condoms....he reads the writing on the wall......

I've heard the Houston Texas are coming after PC and Bush. I hope he sticks around so Charlie gets another shot at him.

Leinert...gone. LenDale White....gone. Bush...gone. The cycle is coming back a little bit. SC will still be good, but someone will get them.

OU Sooner fans are on the Duck boards licking major @ss. "Oh, we're honored to play you. You got screwed so bad. We're still sore from the ass thumping SC gave us last year." Blah blah blah. ND hate unites everyone. Israel and Palestine probably both hate Notre Dame.

But some people are actually saying a 4 loss FSU team really stole their spot, not ND.

Dude, you guys should see the coaches ballots in the USA Today. They published a copy of each coaches ballot for the Coaches Poll in today's paper. There are some real winners and will explain why Notre Dame finished behind Oregon in the coaches poll. Here's a link: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/front.htm You should really check this out. It's clear that the fellow Pac 10 coaches and some of our most well-known rivals did all they could to keep Notre Dame out of the Fiesta Bowl. One Pac 10 coach ranked Notre Dame 12th....BEHIND UCLA!!! Yes the same UCLA that just lost 66-19 to USC. Can you believe that. Most of the coaches ranked us 4th-6th, with coaches most notably from the Pac 10, SEC, and several from rivals in the Big 10 ranking us anywhere from 9th-12th. How much stock can you really put into this poll if coaches clearly choose to be homers and promote their school and fellow conference mate? It's truly comical. I think Mike Belotti ranked us 9th.

Stop it you're quacking me up!! If anything duck fans should be pissed off at their AD for scheduling a Div II school. That meaningless win did not do anything for them. It's great to see the Irish back on top where they belong, especially with no more excuses like the previous coaching staffs.

Yeah, he ranked Virginia Tech 5th after losing to an unranked FSU team in convincing fashion. I really want a piece of BC.

It didn't really register at first, but Spurrier did rank us 14th.......What the hell? Of course he's got three SEC teams in his top 10. He even put Ohio State behind West Virginia. ????????????? You can't possibly tell me that West Virginia is a better team than OSU. Georgia at No. 4? Come on Steve. Get real. This is funny stuff.

Here is a list the ND hating coaches in current USA Today poll

Here is a list the ND hating coaches in current USA Today poll

How the following coaches ranked ND in the final poll:

Barnett Colorado ND 10
Bellotti Oregon 9
Brooks Kentucky 9
Coker Miami 10
Doba Wash St. 12
Long New Mex. 10
O'Brien BC 11
Richt Georgia 8
Spurrier S. Car. 14
Stoops Okla 9
Tedford Calif. 10
Tiller Purdue 9
Tuberville Auburn 9
Wallace Temple 13
Ty W. Wash. 9

Talk about showing unsportsmanlike voting conduct. How can anyone take some of these coaches seriously when they allow their prejudices to interfere with fairness. In fact, how can they take themselves seriously?

Look at Weiss' vote. He was very fair. Of course, if he wasn't, everyone would jump all over him. And even three loss Lloyd was fair.

Notre Dame will beat Ohio State with no problem (You heard the "no problem part here first) and everyone will say they were lucky.

You just can't stop the jealousy from other schools and their fans. But, like a lot of you have said, "IT'S GREAT TO BE BACK!"

Go Irish!

I started to post a chart yesterday displaying that ND went from a +26 point margin over Oregon in the Coaches Poll of 11/27 to a -15 in the 12/4 Poll.

Spurrier accounts for 9 points and Tom O'Brien of BC accounts for 7 more than the 15 point differential.

Spurrier hasn't allowed Cheerios in his house since the '92 Sugar Bowl.

O'Brien is pissed over ND canceling the home and home series since ND promised the Big East to play a couple games a year with Big East teams and BC bolted the Big East for the ACC. I wonder if Tom tore up the bathroom before voting to get in the right mood.

Some of this ballots are just jokes. Tuberville puts Auburn 4th ahead of OSU and Georgia. Didn't Georgia beat LSU? I know Auburn beat the Dawgs by 1, but they couldn't close the deal against LSU. Sour grapes perhaps Tommy?

BC's beating is coming.
I can't wait for this game.

I can tell. Do we play South Carolina, Washington State, or Temple anytime soon? Probably not. I would like to pound them into the ground. However, if we did play them, it would probably mean our year sucked any we are reduced to playing in a dot-com bowl somewhere. Oh well, I'll settle for BC in 2007. Those 52-28 beatings are coming back around for BC.

Spurrier needs to get over the fact that the North won and the Civil War is over with.

There is no greater coach or writer bias than in the South.
