Since the day this staff turned its attention toward the 2006 recruiting class, Toryan Smith has been one of their top recruiting targets. After many phone calls, letters and text messages, the Irish coaches will soon find out if their efforts have paid off.

Where is he as far as feelings towards ND? Looked for any more info. but could not find any. Seems to me that Scout.com can hype things up. Seems like they made me look stupid sometime by prematurely realeasing things. But if anyone out there has any insight, it would be much appreciated.

Anthony Lewis removed ND from his list. When asked why, he said that Notre Dame has taken "another" linebacker in there class and their remaining number of scholarships is limited.

Smith was ready to commit after his visit to ND for the SC game, but Weis told him to take more visits. He went to scUM and Gainesville. This was because ND wanted to make a run at Micah Johnson and see where they stood.

Once Richardson verballed, ND went back to Smith and Micah went to UK this week.

The odds are looking good that he'll be Irish come Monday.

The Buzz around town is that Toryan is going to be Irish! But its just hear say so I guess we'll see. But its a small town and what I hear often happens, this area produces alot of talent like Ronnie Brown (Ex-Auburn RB), And Danny Ware (Current Georgia RB), And the hear say was right with them, so maybe it will be right again, I guess will see, I'll keep my fingers crossed!

No. But ND just got a Fiesta Bowl bid yesterday.

Announcing on the heels of that is clearly a second hand story.
