James Aldridge RB
Barry Gallup WR
Demetrius Jones QB
Robby Parris WR
Munir Prince RB
John Ryan DE

Tonight, December 2.

Just an FYI from your favorite moderator, who has a new 10 year deal I might add.

Lou Eliades comes to South Bend on December 9th, for what it's worth.

Some of our guys have been rumored to be looking around and taking other visits. At ease, boys.

Jiggs, any update on Parris? Glad to see he's coming.

Big D, St Ignatius got bumped out of the first round of the playoffs a month ago.

Had they won, BGI reports Parris was expected to play in the second round game. I know he and Ryan were both on the mend, but I had no idea Parris would considered an option in the playoffs for Ignatius.

They were supposed to visit for the Navy game, but will be in town tonight for the banquet.

I understood there were to be something like a dozen recruits at the banquet. Those 6 have been on the Scout list for official visits for some time. Olsen was reported to be coming back in Sept when he committed. Checking the verbal list versus the Official List there are quite a few who haven't visited yet.

Of course it's supposed to get down to like 10 degrees here tonight. Hope that don't turn off any warm weather recruits. (Not sure where they're all from)

Banquet

Banquet

I was at the banquet on Friday and I saw Aldridge, Ryan, Jones, Parris, Sergio Brown, Wade, and Prince. I was also at the ND- Michigan basketball game, and all of the recruits, including some current players, sat in the bleachers above me. I saw all of the above at the basketbal game, along with Luke Schmidt, Eric Olsen, and another recruit that I didnt recognize. Aldridge and Jones left together early in the second half and didnt return. During the game, the recruits were talking amongst themselves and with current players. Just from observation, it loooks like they all get along well. Let's hope that continues into next year.

Thanks for the update 1125!

Sounds like the report of 12 recruits was in the ball park.

Aside from everybody getting along do you have anything to add about The Banquet?

The banquet was great. This was the first banquet Ive attended, but the people I sat with said this was one of the best they have been to. It was very entertaining. They started out with the highlight film of the season, which had to impress the recruits. Then they went into the awards, which then lead into Lou Holtz talk, which was incredible. He mentioned how there is only one Notre Dame. He went on to mention that there are other schools that try to emulate ND, but this is it. After Lou, Charlie went up and talked for about 5 minutes. The biggest message I got out of his talk was that ND is here to stay- we are not going to be a one time thing. His message was we are building for the future and we are only going to get better. Overall it was a great experience. Im sure the recruits were impressed. Today in the SBT I read that all of the visitors were already commitments. Sam Young was supposed to come, but he and Wenger had a play off game, which they won. He says he will visit most likely in January or in the upcoming weeks of December. If he choses to visit in January, that most likely means he wont make a decision until Signing Day, unlike the scheduled All American Game, which early January (the 7th I believe).

I too was at the banquent and of all the recruits, Aldridge was the most impressive looking physically. He already looks like an upperclassmen LB with those broad shoulders & thick neck - with him enrolling in the spring, I'd be betting on him seeing some major PT behind Darius in the fall.

My apologies for the spelling error in this thread's title.

Demetrius Jones said this:

"I really think that this official visit was an exclamation point in my verbal to Notre Dame. I'm a solid verbal commit to Notre Dame and that hasn't changed ever since I verballed to them. I never really had any doubts about Notre Dame, but after my visit this weekend I'm now certain on Notre Dame. I'm not setting any additional visits."

"Just having the opportunity to learn under Charlie Weis will be amazing. I'm also looking forward to learning under Brady Quinn for a year. He's made so much progress this year from last year as a quarterback, and that's exciting to me. I'm looking forward to playing for a great school and a great program like Notre Dame."

I hadn't noticed despite several forays into this thread.

I'm impressed with that quote from Jones pretty articulate for a high schoo senior. It also kills those Tennessee visit rumors. Looks like Cutcliffe is going to have to fish in other waters.

He is as Chicago as they come....hard working, blue collar, All Day Tough.

Probably a better QB than Kyle Orton.
