Well Svoboda, where do you want me to start? (Your posts lately have been firing me up, I might add).
I'll just stay in THIS my home state.
Dan Doering, Dace Richardson, Anthony Moeaki and Ryan Bain were all recruited by Iowa. The first three were recruited by ND as well. All four live in Suburban Chicago.
I believe Ron Turner was fired first at Illinois, then Ty Willingham at ND. Either way, both guys were in on some of these players, if not all of them.
Ferentz will NEVER get back into Illinois again with Weis and Zook around. He got lucky because the two schools were in coaching transitions, right around this time of year when recruiting wraps up.
Richardson dropped ND after TW got the ax and went Iowa. His teammate Moeaki did the same. Doering soon followed. Bain announced at the Army AA Game.
I'll give Ferentz credit for taking advantage last year and finding some Chicago diamonds in the rough in previous years (Matt Roth, Sean Considine) but the days of him landing our best are OVER.
Notice that list? He got our state's best KICKER. That's it.
