I seem to recall CAL having this same argument last year and they got left out.
They proceeded to get blown out mushroom cloud style by Texas Tech in their non-BCS bowl game.
This is the system. ND has to go 9-2 to QUALIFY for a BCS game. Then it is up to the suits to decide who they want to play in their bowl. So why everyone is coming to ND boards and talking $hit puzzles me. The system is in place, everyone has agreed on it, ND has done their part and Oregon has done theirs....sort of. You win your conference, you're an automatic. Since they didn't do that, they're an at large team that has left their fate in the hands of the suits. And the suits want to make money. They don't care about an overtime loss to Michigan State.
I suggest a few things: Wherever Oregon ends up, they'd better win. If you pull a Cal, be prepared to listen to people laugh. Two, wherever you play you'd better buy some tickets and travel with the team. Prove the suits wrong. Those of you who don't go, tune in and watch. Let the ticket sales and ratings do the talking.
Last, Notre Dame must now win. It is the only way to keep momentum moving and that will allow us to start the new year without having to listen to jackasses from every other time zone come here and hate.
Success breeds contempt. Always has, always will.
