does anyone know if west and reuland (if/when we land him) plan on enrolling early? if they did that would be huge, since it would then allow ND to go hard after mccoy, micah johnson and maybe anthony lewis or butch lewis.

It has been discussed, but by no means is a lock.

The staff brought it up to West and he is considering. Reuland is intelligent enough that if and when he commits, the option would be viable.

Aldridge and Stewart are already in. Not sure how far the Vatican wants to bend on this one. Freeing up two more spots would certainly be a good thing. Could allow them to grab another LB, DT and or WR.

West-I doubt it. He went down a list of senior year things he wants to experience, including his last season of HS baseball. I have no problem with that. It's a fun time. He should enjoy it.

Reuland-who knows? I probably read the same mention you did.

Now the question-how many players will the University allow? My thought is that there really shouldn't be a cap. It should be about quality, not quantity. If kid A qualifies, as does kid C or D, why shouldn't the last two be able to simply because two others beat them to it. Either the admissions dept. feels a certain individual can hack it, or they feel they can't. So if Reuland can and he wants to, I bet they let him.

Reuland is very smart. It certainly wouldn't be a risk to allow him in for academics.

You know? One thing about early enrollment that I haven't seen brought up. If we fill this class, which I'm guessing will happen, there won't be any spots for early enrollers next year.

The big benefit to early enrollees is to increase the size of the class by counting them against open slots in the prior class. But do you have to count them against a prior class? Say for instance that a Jimmy Claussen or other major recruit wants to enroll early and that will be a deciding factor, can't they take him and simply count him against the current class rather than the year before?

Yes scooper, you are right. If a player and the University agree on early enrollment, the player can be listed as a recruit on the previous years' class or the current years' class.

Does anyone know when Reuland is announcing where he is going? I hope soon, I hate waiting.
