Recruiting classes should be done before the end of the season. ANY post season recruiting will be done before week 4-5. We really should accelerate this and get to position changes as soon as possible.
Amen, I don't like to oversign and cut a bunch of guys, especially since you know the recruits rating ahead of time now. Now that they don't add new recruits to the database at the end of the season, off season recruiting should consist of a visit in week one or two tops.
The exception would be for a team like Alamo with Tulsa. If he decides to stay at Tulsa, I could see him adding a few 2 or 3 star gems late in the recruiting game and needing the offseason recruiting (that's what I have to do with WKU and Tulane in my offline dynasties). But everyone else is at a big school, and should have classes good to go by now.
Disclaimer: not knocking your recruiting skills Alamo, just relating my recruiting experience with similar, smaller schools.
This is my first go-around with online carousel, I don't desire to go after another coaching job so I went ahead and hit "ready to advance." I did check the carousel though, and the only two jobs I saw were Boston College and another that escapes me (I think a C-USA job).
I think I'll stick with Wisconsin, though I admit I was about 3% tempted to try and rebuild at BC.
I'm ready to advance.
I convinced my QB and 2 HBs to stay for their senior years! **** JUST GOT REAL.
This offense may shatter last year's records...providing I have blockers!
how can u talk players into staying?????
i'm also ready to advance
wamma get back into it after missing a couple of weeks after visting ur side of the pond
I don't much like the "promise" system when you're trying to convince a player to stay. I would love to keep my Freshman OLB that is a 77 overall, but it is also unrealstic that the only promise that will sway him is promising him that he will have 10+ sacks next season.
First, he's an OLB in a 4-3. He's not blitzing that much. Second, even if I moved him to MLB so he could blitz (I blitz MLB often), I would have to start him over a better player.
I don't get options like in recruiting to promise Conference/Natl championships, so it's annoying.
However, even though he started as "very low" in returning, I promised him five sacks and it somehow convinced him to stay. I guess I'll just have to blitz him in garbage time throughout the season.
I'm finished with week 1 recruiting...I'm doing it on my computer...so I can't tell it to show up green "ready to advance" for Dre.
