Does anybody else feel this guy is NOT ND material? He would take 50 official visits if it were allowed! To me he is just a pampered fat guy who wants to see the world.

I hope he decides that the food at ND is not sufficient to satisify him and chooses some place where the goodies are there and the people will bow down to him.

Apparently Minn didn't bow low enough.

I'm confused. Quite frankly, if I were Coach Mason I'd yank his offer.

I don't understand the vitrol. There are many recruits left that are still taking visits to other schools. Are they pampered? I understand the he said/she said rumors about a committment, and how that might cloud our judgement of him. But the bottom line is, the kid is allowed to make his visits before choosing a school. This is, afterall, a pretty big decision for him. If he waits and the class fills up, his loss. But we should wish him well and move on. If he has an offer, the coaches see something they like so I think fans should quit with the name calling of this young man.

I can agree with you on the verbal attacks, Scooper. I do, however, agree with BigDon about whether or not Kates is a fit.

What I fail to comprehend is this story. It sounds like he went up to Minnesota and had no interest in them at all. He hung around the hotel, missed the game and his feedback didn't seem like that of someone who is excited about his recruiting.

BGI dropped him off of the verbal list, thus ND is at 19.

Kates is a wash. I am telling you, I saw this kid play twice and he is a load. I cannot see him lasting a college football quarter. As soon as the running back got by him - he stopped. There was no persuit or even a half ass effort. I will actually be upset if he takes the ND offer.

Gerald McCoy should be the number one target right now. Sam Young is a close second.

I think McCoy would bring immediate impact to the defensive line. Laws and Landri get far too many reps due to lack of depth. McCoy could be added to the mix from day one.

McCoy and Butch Lewis, along with Darrell Hand, would be a great trio of DTs for years to come. I've seen Lewis projected at defensive end, though.
