Sportsline's got the Irish in the Orange Bowl against Va. Tech. I'd rather they go there. I like the Orange Bowl more, and I'd rather they played a great team like Va. Tech to validate the season a little more if they win.

i'd rather get through the next four games with wins before i think about where we'll wind up in a bowl game.

For sure.

Ohio State and Va Tech, eh?

I like those teams, for obvious reasons.

Living among their wretched filth, (the fans not the state itself) I want Ohio St.

I agree with you also.Earlier this week I was a little awed at the fact that everyone is taking tennessee so lightly, but I'm going to have to jump on that band wagon as well.If we could jump all over that defense with some quick strikes(and i have confidence in CW)then I would feal a lot better about playing another great defensive game with va tech or ohio state.
va tech looked awesome last night against boston college.I don't know, our defense is good, but to play a full game with those guys,I just don't know if we are there yet.Still,I believe that our defense is really good when it has to be,but is very suspect to give up the big plays that marcus vick is capable of.

I wouldn't mind seeing 7 series of plays with our offense against va tech's defense to see how many times we could score.

ohio state would be a terrific game, the buckeyes great linebackers aginst our offense.

as far as tennessee goes,I'll have to migrate far away from here for several months if we loose that game.I have more respect for other teams now that I'm a little older, but I still have the cockiness as I did when holtz was coach.I'm not a gambling person, but I had to take that 20.00 bet that the irish will score 21 points in the first half against the vols.
I believe they will too.

Tennessee wants this game real bad,I can feel it.They have nothing left in them. It's payback time for them from last year and their terrible season this year, just like us last year.I heard herbstreet twice last night say notredame was going to run the table into the bcs.He has no respect for the vols either, noone does. That is more motivation for the team that was supposed to be in the national championship game this year.
wonder if anyone is screaming "WE MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSE"

also, look out for walt harris and stanford, hopefully that one will not be very close when the irish roll into palo alta.
Could there be a ucla upset brewing this weekend?

Predicting who will play in the bowl games at this point is as like trying to predict month's weather.

That said I see an ND/PSU match up on the horizon. If PSU wins out, which is a good possibility, then they would be the Big Ten BCS team.

Stanford has played well as of late.

stanford has won their last three in a row. what are they - 4-2? 5-2? they pounded arizona state - the only other team that's challenged so cal this year. ND will play them at home this year.

the irish may very well win out this year - and i'm damn near giddy at the thought of it. but they could also stumble and close at 2-2. i just hope the team isn't buying into the hype as much as the fans seem to be. the irish are good, and for the most part, they've taken advantage of their opportunities to the fullest. but they're not a great team that can still win while looking ahead to their seat at the BCS table. with four games remaining, there's a lot of season ahead of us.

i hate to be the sober one here in a room full of fans drunk on BCS glory, but it's worth pointing out that Ty had a better record this far into the season. Not comparing the coaching abilities of Ty and Charlie - just a reminder that season's can turn on a dime.

if they lose focus, they'll lose a game. call me superstitious, but as a fan, i have no intentions of jinxing them by speculating about who our opponent will be in the fiesta bowl.

hate O$U hope we play, and destroy them. That would give us a great head start on recruiting in Ohio next year...
