125 years of Fighting Irish Football 125 years of Glasgow Celtic

Two fantastic Institutions, born in the same year.

Celtic were founded by a Marist Brother from Sligo, Brother Walfrid. We were set up as a charity, to feed the poor in the East End of Glasgow.

The Irish who fled the famine and settled in Glasgow, followed Celtic as their team and generations later, i was fortunate enough to follow in their footsteps.

My family fled to America as well as Glasgow and from my youngest days, 30 years ago, they taught me to love the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, too.

Aye, we are doing well. Our ex-deadly rivals were liquidated this year!!!!

They were the only Professional Soccer team in the UK never to have signed an Irish player!!!
