Rivals position rankings

Last week rivals came out with the position rankings. I was happy to see that all of our commits with the exception of kicker Ryan Buckhart were nationally ranked at their respective positions. Here's a quick run down of where they ranked

Zach Frazer- 3rd best pro style QB

Demetrius Jones- 2nd best dual threat QB

James Aldridge- 3rd best running back

Munir Prince- 26th best running back

Luke Schmidt- 4th best fullback, one slot shy of being a 4 star player.

Bartley Webb- 24th best tackle

Paddy Mullen- 23rd best TE

Robby Parris- 50th WR

Barry Gallup- 65th WR

Raeshon McNeil- 13th best corner, wow wouldn't it be nice to land Walls the number 1 corner as well.

Kallen Wade- 6th best weakside DE, one slot shy of being a 4 star player. Surprised to see rivals have him rated so high when he had no offer from Ohio state.

John Ryan- 33rd best strongside DE

What matters most to me is that these guys appear to fit the system. Parris will be the next Samardzija. Gallup has been playing RB the past few weeks in the reports I've been reading.

Jones, Aldridge and Schmidt are going to look awesome in the backfield together someday.

The future offense looks great so far, just need to land another 3 or 4 O linemen, and a nice stud WR like Jackson.

If ND's winning ways continue we could have the number 1 class in the country

Jackson, Terrance Austin...wow. Couple that with Parris and Gallup and the WR haul will be nice.

3 or 4 is 4 or 5 with the O Line. 5 at the very bare boned least is what they'll need total.

surprised to see Gallup and Parris so low. Jackson would be a nice complement.

Im surprised we dont have at least another OL verbal, considering the whole OL is gone next year, you'd think these guys would love the immediate playing time opportunity.

Ryan should not be ranked that low.

And who distinguishes between strong and weak ends coming out of highschool?

I think the only guys were losing on the line next year is LeVoir and Stevenson. Everyone else either has another year or were redshirted so their eligible for another year, which Im sure Weis will gladly give.

So that should be 2 holes on the o line next year(assuming no one who has eligibility left leaves for the NFL) to fill. Hopefully Turk or Duncan can at least fill one hole.

Could be alot worse like in 2003 when we had to fill 4 holes on the O Line. Thanks Davie...

For the person said that if we got all 4 WR targets it would be quite a haul, we already have 2 WRs commited. I don't think Weis will take more than 3. We cannot keep to load up on offensive players. We must get some commits from Defensive players. Minter has got to keep up his end of the bargain, too!

Ryan and Wade both dropped severly in the Scout rankings. Ryan went from #18 to #33 DE and Wade from #14 to #25.

If you're satisfied with Parris and Gallup and wouldn't want Jackson and Austin, well....I can't finish this sentence. After the mass exodus of players that left the team and the seniors that will be graduating, I think there will be plenty of scholarships to go around for this group.

The two guys they have are mid tier receivers. Austin and Jackson are top tier and have ND high in the hunt.

Long story short, this will be a good problem to have.
