Just found out that that over the hill windbag will be doing the play-by-play for the Pitt game...is anyone else sick of this jerkass ruining every ND-USC game with his anti-ND comments? I for one will be watching the game on mute with the radio turned up.

What anti-ND comments are we talking about?

I know he's a west coast guy, but I've never thought of him as anti-Notre Dame.

That is what I usually do (especially for away games). I love watching the games and listening to Tony Roberts call the game. He doesn't root for ND too hard does he?

found this on a link from ndnation
http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/tribune-review/sports/college/s_368447.html

Jackson has never met Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis. And it appears that will not change, even after this weekend.

"He's turned down all of our interview requests," Jackson said. "He told us he'd be glad to talk with (ABC broadcaster Dan) Fouts out there in South Bend, but he won't do it on camera.

"Somebody needs to sit down with Charlie and tell him how important marketing is to Notre Dame."

I will be listening to every word of his from a very critical perspective.

I personally love Keith Jackson as an announcer, a true class act still after all these years. I am glad he is broadcasting the game. Tony Roberts on the radio is also second to none.

i've always liked keith jackson too. but from the sounds of the article noted above, he does appear to be getting a little ornery in his old age. and it's clear that he's a little bitter over the fact that weis doesn't want to take the time to sit down for an on-camera interview with ABC.

I like this. Weis is focused on football and recruiting. The standoff with the media is great.

I think he's still upset that in between the coaching transition 6 months ago the sports info dept. hung the kids out to dry and the media took advantage. Won't happen this time around.

I'd love to hear about Weis telling ESPN to go screw themselves. No Sunday Conversation, no Budweiser hot seat, no GameDay...no Stuart Scott and his crooked eye.

Who were the announcers during the ND bowl game last year. They were brutal, one of the guys sounded like he was piss drunk. As long as those two clowns don't announce an ND game again I don't really care...

Keith Jackson is about as one sided broadcasting USC-ND games as they have ever gotten.

Tell me who ISN'T anti-Notre Dame. I'll start: Tom Lemming. And he's disgustingly pro-ND.

Stuart Scott falls in a well, eye goes crooked. Gets kicked by a mule, it goes straight again.

Beano is Pro ND but he is old news. I love watching the 80's and early 90's game on ESPN Classic that Musberger broadcast. ALthough I don't think he is a pro-ND guy, he wants them to do well bc ND IS college football..

I'm over the haters, to be quite honest.

But I enjoy hating ESPN. I have boycotted them completely. No Sportscenter, no nothing. No ESPN network appears on my screen...EVER. And believe me, it isn't just b/c of ND. Too many reasons to even begin to list.

Welcome. The "Big Ugly" should retire to "The Farm" that he loves so well. You can just hear it in his voice how it pains him to give ND credit and to announce that we won or upset one of his beloved teams.

On the other side, Ara was a pretty fair and good announcer and wasn't too much of a homer. It was so sad to see him nearly cry while broadcasting Gerry Faust's last game, when Jimmy "I shellack my hair" Johnson ran the score up on him.

He did wonders for Ron Powlus' career. Good God.

I remember my father cringing when Cook said two heismans and two national titles for Powlus...or whatever it was.

Musberger is professional, unlike anyone that has ever set foot on an ESPN set.

Especially that cockeyed moron Stuart Scott.
