Great article in the Chicago Tribune about Weis and Zook yesterday.

He is downplaying the game, but he knows the week prior is going to be a media circus. Thus, he is referring to it as the "Ty Bowl."

Personally, I hope after that game is over and ND has achieved victory, I never hear another word about the former coach ever again.

Do you think Washington will fire him before 2008/2009? Or will they have the integriTY to honor their contract? Otherwise, we shall meet again...

I could care less what happens to him. I hope he beats USC.

I'm over it. I've gained closure with the situation. I had it when they hired Weis.

If they would get rid of him, then that would free up a lot of time for him and his cronies to go stick 18 holes (which is where he spent most of his recruiting time). Hit em' straight Ty you emotionless turd!

GO IRISH!!!!

Such anger! Besides, Golf Magazine said it was 27 holes a day.

Sorry Rip Rap, had to vent. Whoooo, I feel better now. Is it 27 holes a day? Good for him. Saw him play in a couple of Pro-Ams. Got a nice swing. Pretty decent handicap too.

Now about his coaching. That worthless pile of... ya know, I won't even get started. He's gone and he's no longer our problem.

Best of luck to Tyrone-ger Woods and we'll see ya in a couple weeks!!!! (God help the Huskies!!!!)

Willingham on ND: "I won't touch that. I don't talk about it. It's a great place. A wonderful place. I did not do all I wanted to do."

a couple of excerpts from that article that struck me as strange...

"And he did a lot of stuff with us -- you know, he's in a lot better shape than a lot of us," Vanneman said.

i realize he's paying some lip service to his new coach, and no offense to ty, because he is a physically fit man. but he's also in his late 40's. for washington's sake, i hope that quote isn't true...

"His words also appear to be working on the recruiting trail. Four highly rated players have verbally committed to the Huskies, including quarterback Jake Locker (Ferndale, Wash.), an athletic passer with leadership skills reminiscent of Marques Tuiasosopo."

once again, not a knock against ty. but when espn is talking about his success in getting 4 highly rated verbals, it makes me realize exactly how far ahead of his first year peers that weis really is.

Interesting wording. An alternative: "Willingham has verbal committments from a California running-back and three kids from Washigton who probably grew up Husky fans and would have played there regardless the coach."
