Updates on Demetrius Jones is that Illinois is the leader and Purdue has entered the picture in a much bigger capacity than before. He likes the offense and has been looking a lot harder at the school than he was before.

Looks like Mike Hartline now?

Hartline is down to Wisconsin, Michigan State and Illinois. No offer from ND.

If Hartline picks Illinois, they already have Isiah Williams. Jones would be out of the box at ILL.

I'm thinking Purdue more and more with the way things are shaking out.

Why would Jones come with us? We already have Frazer (elite 11), quite frankly, he will start after Quinn graduates and be the first four year bred Weis quarterback.

Jones has said that he would relish the competition at whatever school he goes to. There is always the ND degree.

Weis wants two QB this class, but with Frazer already on board, I'm not sure how good the second guy will be.

"My only regret is I didn't stay at Notre Dame. If I had stayed and played multiple positions like I went on to do, I'd be playing on Sundays right now. But that's OK, I'm going to get there one day.''

Demetrius Jones still chasing dream - Chicago Tribune

That's a November 02, 2010 article but does tie in to Lynch, Shepard, et al.

Interesting piece ...

Jones' biggest problem involved eligibility. He boasts a solid 3.1 grade-point average but unresolved paperwork took weeks to resolve. Before Jones could play, he says he had to pay Cincinnati $1,700 for transcript fees tied to his abrupt departure and $1,300 to Notre Dame for breaking a dorm lease and health-insurance contract.

I've been out of school a long time but $1,700 in transcript fees?

And the ND bill was 3 years old??
