Is that a double-entendre, my man?Rip Rap said:Worst bust? Hannah Storm.

It's a hard question, really. Because do you put it all on the kid, or does the coach have some culpability?
I mean, I like Ronnie P. And I think some of his problems stemmed from the fact that he had to run the option and he's not an option QB. And I think Davie & Willingham dropped the ball with Carlos Campbell.
But for the purposes of this question, I'll go with Delvecchio.
But can you imagine the titles we would have won if we could've accepted the kid (I bet Bowden's thinking the same thing...lol).timm3117 said:I'm gonna go with Randy Moss, he never even got on the field for ND before he was asked to leave. Atleast these other guys made it to the playing field.
Absolutley. I think he's the most gifted player in the League (outside of maybe Mike Vick). He could smash some of Rice's records...but he's got some screws loose.timm3117 said:Oh yeah Moss is a great talent, he's just not a great man. He drives me nuts, he puts himself in the spotlight, then acts mad because the spotlight is on him. At some put he's gotta grow up. And if he does, watch out because with his size and speed, he's unstoppable. Only Randy Moss can stop Randy Moss.
True, he should have excelled under Davie & especially under Ty Willingham (who did a good job as running backs coach in Minnesota). So the coaches share the blame. But JJ also screwed himself with his off-field/classroom problems.bmf175 said:I dont know if you can blame J Jones for not reaching his peak in college. Remember who was coaching him and who was calling some of the plays.
The fact that he is foing so much better aganist stiffer competition shows that his colleges coaches had little or no coaching ability.
Nah, they have a slew of solid players. I think it mainly pertains to some of their QBs and WRs. Hopefully that ends at Grossman, because he is my QB in Chicago and looked solid his rookie year.NDLyght37 said:True, he should have excelled under Davie & especially under Ty Willingham (who did a good job as running backs coach in Minnesota). Then again, some kids don't really blossom until they reach the pros (unless they went to Florida, then the reverse happens...Is Emmitt the only Gator that's been successful?).
Hmm...I forgot that "The Freak" went to UF; I knew about Taylor, but his name slipped my mind. But yeah, I think that since most of their big-name QB's have been busts, it gives the false appearance that all UF pros are busts.Svoboda said:Nah, they have a slew of solid players. Jevon Kerse, Lito Shepherd, Reche Caldwell, Trace Armstrong, Andra Davis, Erron Kinney, Fred Taylor, Mike Peterson, Ellis Johnson and so on.
They definitely do better on the defensive side of the ball. Bama is a team that I've always thought kills pro careers.NDLyght37 said:Hmm...I forgot that "The Freak" went to UF; I knew about Taylor, but his name slipped my mind. Yeah, Shawn Alexander is the only recent grad that comes to mind.Svoboda said:They definitely do better on the defensive side of the ball. Bama is a team that I've always thought kills pro careers.
Anyone remember Eric Curry? Damn, I thought he was gonna be special.

For football? Mike McNair (since I've paid attention).

Yeah, that's the guy...I probably tried to block that's chump's name out of my head.Domerlover said:I think you mean LoVecchio, Lyght. I would have to agree with McNair and also with the fact that Stovall is in jeapordy of joining him.
You guys are crazy. It has to be Ron powlus.Their was so much hype around this kid. It's not if he will win a heisman it is how many. It's not if he will win a NC it is how many.He was their for ten years and never got anywhere close. He is part of the reason holtz got ran.(Moss didn't help). He was the biggest bust regardless of the system and how he carried himself.Busts can be nice guys too(see:TY) :jawdrop:hybriddad said:Disagree on Ron Powlus, his problems came from being in an option system, outside of that I thought he carried himself well. Davie hosed him in the end as well.
