Yeah, I mentioned this when you listed Gardiner earlier in the RBs thread. What I don't get is why he transfered and they didn't make a mention of it in the normal media, so I think there had to be something behind it.Rip Rap said:This further screws us at corner.

Rip Rap said:Yeah I remember that, but didn't know what you were referring to. He says he left ND because it was too conservative, which tells me Ty really sold these kids on him rather than the school. How anybody doesn't like being at ND is beyond me.
the_voidoid said:as a bleeding-heart liberal and social progressive, trust me when i say that notre dame is too conservative.
Rip Rap said:We have 6 current scholarship corners (as I understand it): Richardson, Ndukwe, Hedgemon, Duerson, Lambert, and Ferrine. Lambert and Ndukwe were top recruits out of highschool, and Ferrine and Hedgemon have serious potential. Duerson and Richardson are questionable, at best.
the_voidoid said:since we've obviously put proper coaching in place in the secondary, our only major drawback is that we'll be playing guys who haven't had a lot of game experience. (this is assuming richardson does not start). i think lewis is going to correct a lot of the mistakes that have been made over the past few seasons.
Rip Rap said:But he likes the Nickle Package, and we only have 6 corners...
the_voidoid said:well, as with any coaching change i can imagine there may be some position swapping to plug some gaps. with sharpley coming in i can see darrin bragg possibly moving to backup corner, or wooden maybe. i think we're forgetting jabbie as another CB.
Rip Rap said:Maybe, but Wooden already failed as a corner, and Bragg may move, but likely to receiver. That's what his brother was at UCLA.
QueensNY said:What about Grimes at corner? he's 5'9 160lbs. I think thats just to small to play wideout. He has good speed.
Rivals and scout have him listed as the 60th best wideout in the country, considering his size I'm amazed he's rated that high. He must be an outstanding athlete to be getting that kind of attention at his position with his size.
QueensNY said:I like taller corners myself, thats been a growing trend in college football, but your starting to see smaller corners again in college football.
What do you think about Grimes being a return man on special teams? Rossum is 5'9 as well I believe.
