McGillicudy commits to Harvard, err, Stanford

According to Rivals, James McGillicuddy surprised everyone when he announced his intentions of playing football at Harvard.

Good for him.

Yeah, Harvard football is a lot tougher than I thought. I had a friend who went there to play ball 3 years ago (he turned down schools like JMU and William & mary). He was an all-district WR on a team that challenged for the playoffs(granted he played with Michael Vick). I think that he (and everyone in the city) thought that because he came from an urban area, and an area that has already spawned a bunch of pro athletes (Vick, Iverson, Mourning, Aaron Brooks, etc.), he was going to automatically start at Harvard. But he went to Harvard and dissappeared. I mean, I know they had a really talented WR up there for a while, but he still was good enough to be a 3rd reciever (or so we all thought). But those Ivy-League guys are playing real football. And they've had some pros come from Harvard recently (Ike Kacyvenski, Matt Birk, etc.).

So I wish McGillicuddy the best. Great education...and a surprisingly good football team.

Actually, He decommitted from Harvard already and is going to Stanford per Rivals this afternoon. He's quoted as saying " ND didn't contact me much, and they are going to be sorry for it." This kid is overrated anyway. Had a big injury his senior year. Good Luck to him...

Oh...Well in that case, I hope we run all over him when we meet Stanford. I hope Walker goes for 100 yds + a "Bo Jackson-Brian Bosworth" highlight over McGillicuddy.

I never understood why we didn't offer him. He would of come to ND. 4 star player.

Walt Harris is doing a good job there, he's a solid coach.
