23 guys are announcing where they'll be going to school, during the game. Hord is announcing during the game. The game is on NBC I think, I'll be watching.

Nelson will be leaving right after the game to go to Florida for his visit.

I've searched on him quite a bit the past couple weeks and what turns up is spotty at best. I do know he was named to the Class 4A All-State First team. I believe he had 60 catches for a little over 1000 yards and 7 TDs.

yeah 4A is a huge division here in the lone star state. the only thing that concerns me is his teams schedule. see, he is from wichita falls, which is a big city, but there is nothing around it. im serious. the only reason its so big is because there is an air force base there. he doesnt go to a school in the dallas metroplex or the houston or austin area where all the most noted talent is, so i dont think hes played very many teams with great defensive backs. now i could be wrong of course, he could be awesome, but i just wanted to note that some of the competition his team has played has been pretty weak.

He may not have played great DB's, but a 6'6'' guy with speed would be nice to have.

Stoves and McKinght were under utilizied by Ty. Weis will find a way to get them the ball. Look what he did in New England :)

Yeah but I think this position can wait tell next year when we have a better chance at a 4 or star recruit. We have everyone except for shelton back plus vaugh from last years class.Stack the ol and dl these are the guys that have to take a year or so to get bigger and understand the blocking.I believe it is easier for a wr or impact skilled player to come in and make an immedite impact(walker).I just don't think this guy is impotant as he is making himself out to be. :rocket:

I've watched some video of him, reminds me a little of Keyshaun Johnson, Big, good hands and a little on the slow side.

Nelson's physical but does lack the speed that a Maurice Stovall has. Nelson runs a 4.6 40, but if he runs his routes well and plays physical at the college level he should be good.

Hord has the speed and decent size, Hord too me looks like a gem.

Tom Lemming loves Nelson, has him as the 6th best WR. Has Hord as the 16th.

yeah thats true. ty should have definitely given these guys more passes. he actually might have hurt them in the long run by not using them as much as he could, they probably could have developed faster had he not been so freakin conservative.

I was just reading the US Army All-American Bowl update on IrishEyes.com and they are hyping two WR's from the West side. The two are D.J. Hord and David Nelson! They are saying that Nelson has the best body controll they have seen in a handfull of years, cathing EVERYTHING thrown his way. As for D.J. Hord, he is one of the quickest guys at the U.S.A.A.A.B and uses his hands to haul in all of the balls thrown to him.

As of right now, I'm praying to the Notre Dame gods that both of them come to ND. Imagine a four WR set in a few years of Chris Vaughn, D.J. Hord, David Nelson and Jeff Samardzia....not too bad, with Quinn @ QB and Walker in the backfield or maybe even Johnathan Stewart:) :gossip:

I believe Herring has a visit to Tenn this week and Hord is going to announce at the AA game so technically I guess Hord could be next, but Herring likely to follow shortly.

Shelton was a senior this year. Does anyone know if he was redshirted at ND?

Yep he's coming back next year. Schimdt and Dillingham weren't offered the extra year by Ty, doubt Weis will offer them that extra year. But Shelton will be back for one last year.

I went to highschool at Grapevine and I think we played Wichita Falls. I believe it snowed when we played them, and I remember thinking-my God-this is far north. Grapevine since changed divisions, but I believe Nelson's conference may include suburban Forth Worth teams.
