Okay, here is something fun and could end up being pretty interesting.

Who's NFL draft status do you think Weis and his All-Star coaching squad will impact the most? Lets limit it to the upcoming senior class, and we'll do this every year, etc.

Anthony Fasano.

He loves to use the tight end in his offense to create miss-matches :0

Was hoping to see some more detailed analysis. Tell me a little more then "he just needs direction."

Also, post where you think he would be drafted before the new staff and with them. For instance, Slow Mo:

Without Staff: 5th rounder
With Staff: 3rd rounder

You get the point.

well, i think Mcknight really is a great athlete, but you could tell that in this year especially, he seemed "lost" at times, it seemed like he wasn't fiiting the system..i thought every time he ran that bubble screen, they were really wasting this guys talent...he is more of a speedster in my opinion that will outrun, and if need be out jump you for a play...

i think that if he had graduated this year, he would possibly be a 5 or even 6 round pick...but next year with a little more development, he "COULD" go low 2nd,

Gotha.

Fasano.....He already runs decent routes, with good hands and decent speed down the seem. Under Weiss he will learn how to sheild the ball from the defender and get going downfield quicker. Coach Weis will get the ball to him religously in the red zone increasing his TD numbers.

Without this Staff rounds 5-7

With this staff rounds 2-4

Maurice Stovall, this kid was such a highly touted kid out of high school, 6'5 210 lbs, 4.3 40. He has all the tools, but he drops balls, doesn't get thrown too much. You'll see Weis utilize stoval more in the offense.

Without Weis stovall would of been a 3 rounder, just because of his size and speed. With Weis I think Stovall may be a first rounder.

Fasano looks great, he has 2 years of eligiblity left, but he's already considered one of the top tight ends in the country so you'll probably see him enter the draft next year.

i am also going to take a stab here, but i also really like Derek Landri...i have followed him since he played prep ball at my favorite school De La Salle...he is a stud nose guard, who i think will really do well next year with Latina at O-line coach..

bc: (before charlie) High 2nd
ad: 1st round

Fasano is a great choice, but I'll go with Stovall. I don't think Weis is going to do anything to directly help Maurice, but the fact that Weis will work wonders with Brady Quinn will by nature make Stovall more appealing to the pros.
My Draft Day Prediction:
Under The Old Staff: 3rd or 4th rounder
With The New Staff: 2nd rounder to Philly in '06.

The Eagles will probably still be looking for a qualified slot reciever to compliment T.O. & Freddie Mitchell. MoSto is big, quick, & tough...plus he's a Pennsylvania guy. Perfect fit.

De La Salle is amazing. I watched De La Salle Special they had on ESPN a few weeks ago. It was great, that place and that coach are amazing....

You have to suspect that Weis himself will directly affect offense the most. Cutcliffe is the biggest name on the staff after Weis, so the quarterbacks are obviously expected to improve.

But the passing numbers will inflate in direct proportion to their receivers, who have thus far suffered the most from Quinn's inability to lead a passer. To me, Quinn's best routes are hitches and slants where he can throw directly downfield into the receiver. On fades and streaks he has a tendancy to leave the ball behind the receiver, and only Smardzija has been able to make that look cool (though Shelton had that one really nifty reach-back and taunt the guy move, I believe against Stanford).

Anyway, as Quinn improves, Stovall and McKnight will also improve the most, and leading them will allow for the big runs they can generate after the catch.

Quinn and Fasano, these guys will combine for about 10 TD's this year. Ty's play calling kinda left Fasano out in the cold last year. One game he'd have 5 catches the next he wouldn't have any. But with the talent at TE here, and on its way. I see Quinn to Fasano being a lethel redzone weapon. I cant wait!

Can you make that the new banner on the pages? We need to get Ty out of here :) Just a suggestion.

If we're only going w/ the upcoming seniors, then I have to go w/ Fasono too. Weis could make a big impact for Stovall and McKnight as well, but TE's are just so hard to come by, Fasono has a realistic shot of being a high second rounder or even maybe a low first rounder if he has a huge senior year combined w/ an excellent Combine. B.C. though he would have been probly a late first day or early second day selection (3-5 rounder).

However, overall, I think there's no question that Quinn will have the best impact from Weis. He's pretty good anyway, but w/ the way that guy develops QB's he really could be great and even a potential Heisman winner as Irishgo likes to remind us. Even if he never wins the heisman though, he still probly goes from like second day selection under Willingham to at least a 2nd or 3rd rounder under Weis, possibly much MUCH higher than that. we'll see.

 I told y'all TyWillie's not perfect. He's a good coach, but there are certain things that C-Dub will do better, and grooming Quarterbacks is certainly one of those. As for Brady, I didn't mention him because he's probably staying all 4 years. Of the guys leaving next year, Stovall & Fasano are at the top of the list, IMO.

And BTW, Happy Birthday irish. :bbanana: :clover:

Absolutely. This guy has been lying in the weeds all this time. I thought '04 would be his breakout year. He's got all the ability. Now is the time.

Quinn will benefit from this staff the most overall. By the time his last two years are up, he'll be putting up major numbers and the League scouts will take notice.

ok do u think that Walker will be the next Cedric Benson
Hmmm...not sure. I think Benson is a lil' bit harder runner, but Walker is a better reciever out of the backfield. Personally, I think Darius is like a smaller/slower version of Kevin Jones...and that's still a damn good RB.

Yeah, I got to see KJ for a few years down here. And I think that by his senior year, Walker could be in that category. He has all the tools. Ty started the job, and I think C-Dub can mold Walker into an even great player.

Watching him reminds me of watching Ricky Watters #12

Yeah, I can see that. Maybe not as good a reciever...but he's probably quicker than Ricky was.

Ricky Watters is a nice comparision. I expect Walker to improve greatly catching the ball out of the backfield.
