I think 9 wins next year because he will have the whole returning offense to work with, 7 or 8 his second, because thanks to Ty we'll have alot of holes by then., by his 4th year i think he'll be playing for a National championship

I don't expect ND to be getting blown out left and right, like Ty was. And I expect Weis to win the games he should win (BYU, Syracuse, etc)

8-3 He will beat who he is supposed to beat.He will keep the other games close. The defense will have major holes. We might have to outscore everyone. The two years of so-so recruting will be tough to overcome.I think he will turn it around in year four.

The nice part is that our road schedule is pretty easy for the most part.

I think ND will win 7 games during the regular season and then FINALLY win a bowl game for the start of a great run.

Looked at the upcoming schedule again & I think 7 wins & a bowl game might be the best we can hope for. It's not a championship, but an 8-4 season after the bowl game is prefectly acceptable for me in C-Dub's first year.

C-Dub?

I like that.

If it catches on, I'm trademarking it.
* - Besides, it's a lot easier than remembering if the "i" or the "e" goes first in Weis.

Probably only loses to USC, Michigan, and Tenn.....so that is 8-3
I agree with those losses, but I also see a number of "trap" games that the team could lose. I don't think they'll lose all the "trap" games, but I could easily see a fluke loss to Pitt, Purdue, or even Navy. I think they lose one of those games and finish the regular season at 7-4 (8-4 after the bowl game).

I would not be the least bit shocked if there is another 6-5 campaign on the horizon. I am hoping that the staff can manage to corral a group of recruits that can contribute right away. I can't see them winning on the road against Michigan and USC is so far ahead that it is a big longshot to expect a victory against them.

I'm going to wait and see what happens in the Pitt opener. I was at the Pitt game in South Bend and that Palko guy destroyed them. They need to stick him into the ground and the rest of those guys too. That opener will be a big statement game for the rest of the country.

I was talking about this with my dad during the New Year's Day bowl games. If you consistently go 8-3, 9-2 and get into bowl games, eventually you can win a National Title. Eventually, the schedule will fall into place and some breaks will go your way that will get you to 11-0 and into the Big One. I do think that Weis will win a bowl game next year should ND be eligible. A month to prepare with this supposed staff would be tough to go up against for any opponent.

and all the Texas Longhorns fans said "Hallelujah" anyway, i think 8-3 with a bowl win is the best shot finishing 9-4...by the way, they beat UM in the big house

I picked 9 wins - not too realistic. But we won't have BC handing us a loss this year. That's one less, right?

8-4 seems realistic. I would say only Michigan, USC, and Tennessee have any business beating us, and I think in x's and o's Weis will upset one of them. But we'll drop two more we should win. The entire offense is returning, and because the defense is weaker, I'm expecting higher scoring games (on both sides of the ball) then we're used to. I suspect we'll come on strong later in the season after going .500 through our first eight games.

Scratch that. I expect higher scoring games on offense. We'll still get scored on often, which we are all already used to. I'm thinking alot of scores like 30something to 30something.

IF leinart leaves USC and if the Tenn post is true look out ND should be 10-1 to 11-0 next year (we will be at the mercy of the Mushagain team)

i wouldn't count leinart's possible exit as a notre dame victory quite yet. john david booty will be more than capable taking snaps next year, and they're returning a ton of guys. i think SC will be our toughest game no matter who they have under center.

Yeah, I think it's fair to name USC, Oklahoma, & the SEC flavor of the month as the early favorites for the title.

If we get a BCS bowl berth, I'd consider it a successful first season for C-Dub.

For all the talk about Heismans, titles and BCS games, we need to remember that there's a reason these guys went 6-6 this year. And to simply quip "Yeah, and his name was Ty" is to ignore Brady Quinn's oft-errant arm, our slow receivers, and our even slower pass-defenders. Yeah, Darius Walker was a fricken' stud and our defensive line made running futile, but this was a team with significant weaknesses on a variety of fronts, weaknesses that cannot be excused away with "it was just bad coaching."

In short, a 6-6 team does not go 12-0 the next year just because they switched coaches.

I agree but about 75% is the coaching - not getting the kids hyped up against BYU y look that team should have lost to us like 50-0...when i saw that we lost to BYU 21-17 i was saying come on now lets fire LOSINGham look we probably should be about 9-3 (loses to USC, Purdue, and OSU) thats just giving us the big loses but one or two of those we probably should have won also...so that is y i think next year about 8-3 cause i am picking conservatively (loses only to those we should lose to USC, MUSHAGAIN, and Tenn.) but again i have to say look at what Weis was able to do to a 5th round pick Tom Brady - turn him into one of the best QBs in the NFL...against alot tougher ds, etc look what he should be about to do with our Brady Quinn.................
