Has anyone noticed Coach Weis and his assistant coach prospects? Every single one brings some major proven experience to the table. It is obvious to me that he is here for the long haul as he could have just thrown together any ole staff.

It's time for the sun to shine on the dome once again folks.

Without a doubt. You're going to see people all of the sudden be a Notre Dame fan again. Experiencing the same thing with my Chicago Bulls.

He has made his living at the top level. The NFL is a place where a good staff is a lot more important then in college. He has been a major part of that proccess.I am also willing to bet he will get ride of them if they do not cut.He understands that the bottom line is to return ND to it's place among the elite.Let's not fool ourselves into thinking whe are going to win it all every year but to be competative and in the mix in November would be great.I think if anything Davie an Ty have taught us is that are expectations sometimes get good coachs run off(NO I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT THEM!!!!!!!!) I am speaking of Holtz. Here is a guy who always kept us in the mix. When he fell on hard times people were calling for his head.He had a proven record at ND and people still wanted him gone.I hope when Weis finds success at ND we remember the lean times(NO 8-0 then spanked for two years after that does not make a successful run at ND)I

True "Rudy"...but C-Dub will find out soon enough that honeymoons in college football are shorter than ever (especially in South Bend). I think we get 7 or 8 wins next year, hit a slump in year 2, and then hopefully "rocket" (why can't we bring him back as a recievers/db coach???) back into the BCS picture.

The way Weis seems to be trying to keep it in the ND family it might happen.I hope he gets the alum to play a bigger part(miami). It's not like we don't have some of the biggest names out there. The more people on that staff that hate USC the better off we are.

The alumni thing is huge. I'd love to have a strong alumni base like Miami, just minus all the scumbag activity. But I know exactly what you're getting at.

Bashing the hell out of SC, Michigan and BC need to be priority number one. I'd be so bold as to add Purdue on that list as well. ND used to be a calendar game for BC. Now it has turned the other way around. That trend needs to change immediately. Can't wait until they're back on the schedule.

This is why I've been wondering about DiNardo in other threads. As much as I hate UNC basketball, they have that whole "family" deal too. Duke seems to be using the same formula with their assistants. ND should translate this into football. Get people in here who have the passion and know what it's all about.

Svo, I was lucky to get to halftime of a Bulls game these past few years. Getting to see entire games and victories has been a pleasure. You've gotta admit, they've been tough to watch and support these last 5 years. They weren't even competing.

This was what Holtz did for ND. Win or lose, they competed. These spankings against SC have been a real problem. Lose, but lose with dignity and put up a fight for four quarters.

So far he seems to be doing all the right things.I hope it translates on the field. If great coaching is indeed in place we can now see if we have the talent.I think we do.Even in our DB's seemed to get burned in the middle of the field rather then on long bombs. They just did not seem to be in the right place to make a play. Some of those guys were playing so far off I could have of caught a pass.

Curious as to why you see a slump in year 2? Our offense should field seniors across the O line and with Quinn & company in the backfield and another year to digest CB's scheme we should be just about unstoppable!
