"They better have their fun now" is what I've been saying to ND haters for the past 2 months. I'm ready to get this debacle of a season over with and get spring ball started. Where's that nasty O line? Where is an opportunity for Tate to take one the distance on a designed play? Why does Charlie (like Andy Reid) have to throw on 3rd and 1? Looking at the 2008 schedule, if Charlie doesn't get this team to a second tier bowl it's an asolute failure. As a 22 year old I've never cared more about ND football until this year...and boy does it suck
Talk IS cheap, and I'm tired of hearing the same old crap from CW. Change something, do something different in practice....anything! I don't listen to his pressers anymore...it's the same old garbage, same old "well, when you give the team the ball on the 10..." blah, blah, blah. Get in someone's face, get excited (like Pete Carrol does), show some emotion.

Talk is cheap. So "talking" about how we are going to be better in the future is CHEAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not bashing you, I'm just tired of us consoling ourselves with thoughts about the future.
I don't care what talent is coming in, not being even remotely competitive should wipe out any confidence there is in future talent. If Weis can't teach these players how to get first downs, there's no hope that he can teach more talented players to win.

We are competitive against every team... just when they put in their second string... The future looks good, theres nothing the matter with looking toward that to get over the debacle that is this season.

i just think a lot of people are frusterated and the best way to get it out is through this. There is plenty of hope for the future boys, it just cant get here soon enough. Without this season, the next couple of seasons wouldnt feel as good.

he laughed at the stupid question he was asked...
We just lost to U$C by the largest margin in the history of the series. Someone could have shown me a chimpanzee in a cowboy hat on a tricycle and I wouldn't have even cracked a grin. All his coaching woes aside, the fact that he laughed (no matter the context) after that game seriously concerns me.

Then you have serious issues. His laugh was dismissive. If he had answered the question seriously without being dismissive, he should have been fired and kicked to the turf by the entire team.
Taking a question like that with a straight face and in a serious manner is asinine.
Now, if he had piled drived her, I would have sent him a Christmas card.
I suppose you would have rather seen a John L Smith meltdown...

I started at ND in 1995... I have had to suffer through a lot of crappy seasons. 1996-2004 & 2007. I am dying for a dominant team.

The bottom will be if we lose any of these last four games. Heck, at this rate I'm worried that we might lose our bye week.
The future is the last thing on my mind right now. I feel sick (and mildly drunk).
But Weis has definitely shown that given an offense that is (1) talented and (2) able to carry itself in a professional manner and play 60 minutes of football week-in, week-out, he is going to win some serious games. Unless a bunch of guys bail, he'll have the first half of the equation soon enough. The second half will be there unless - and I really do worry about this - this season does some SERIOUS damage to these kids' psyches. This is a lot of shit to deal with; I hope they don't forget how to win.
