Where the hell are these NFL rumors coming from? I've never even played football in HIGH SCHOOL, let alone college. Honestly people, do some research before you start spreading these kinds of ridic--

Who do you guys think are in the race beside Quinn? Is Troy Smith in or Ginn, again? Peterson is in I would say. What do you guys think?

In no order, I'd go with Peterson, Quinn, Troy Smith. You have to be on a winning team and win in big games to get this award. Two or three early losses knock you out early, as was the case this year with Quinn. If ND had one loss as opposed to two, he might have been in NY.
Omar Jacobs of Bowling Green and Vince Young going NFL early probably indicate that Quinn is shaping up to be the first QB drafted in 2007.

I don't see Troy Smith putting up Heismen like numbers, plus Holmes is entering the draft so that could hurt him a little bit. OSU loses a ton on defense including Youbuty and Whitner who just declared for the NFL draft, so I doubt OSU goes undefeated next season.

Young and Omar Jacobs going pro leave no doubt that Brady Quinn will be the best QB in America next year.
Drew Weatherford and his band of young WR down at FSU have me keeping an eye on them. Chris Leak and Florida's situation will be interesting.
Other than that, I like Quinn as the top QB in college and in the Draft. Someone else would really have to emerge to knock him off the pedestal.

Here are some scouting reports about these QBs. Note how long Cutler's report is in comparison to the others:
Leinart:
This a player at the quarterback position that excels at quick decision making
Who is calm in the pocket, and tends not to be flustered when things break down, a notch above average athlete, decent mobility inside the pocket, works within his abilities
Somewhat reminds me of former NFL quarterback "Troy Aikman", in that he is robotic in his technique and skill sets, efficient and precise in his throws, has a quick and text book delivery from snap to release of the ball, tough and gritty competitor, with a tight spiral, and a nice touch to his passes
However, he is not the type of quarterback that can improvise well once the play breaks down and keep the play alive, I question his arm strength, and I hope the media hype will not over inflate his actual quarterbacking skill, ability and expectations, this happens often

This is a player at the quarterback position that shows the skill sets that translate to me as a possible franchise type quarterback
This is a little known quarterback hidden away in the SEC Conference who happens to be on a losing team with a supporting cast that lacks the ability to raise their level of play to match his skill level, therefore with the lack of team exposure he is commonly pushed under the radar compared to players at his position with more accolades but less talent and skill
To me he has the total package and traits you look for in becoming a top level winning quarterback at the next level, he is tough, smart, athletic and a quick thinker in the pocket, he is a field general who has total command and control of the offense, with good leadership traits and instills confidence upon his teammates through his intensity and passion for the game that shows through on the field of play, he also does not allow the possibility of failure to control his play on the field, which I find many quarterbacks to do, and he is a calm cool customer in the pocket despite consistently having to perform under adverse conditions stacked against him
He is an excellent conditioned athlete at the quarterback position who reminds me of current NFL quarterback "Jeff Garcia", in his athletic movement and mobility to run and throw on the move, he is a bigger better athlete at the position who is a better pocket passer than Jeff, with the lack of cohesiveness of his offensive line his running skills are on display more often than I am sure he would like to prefer, with him frequently on the move and commonly taking hits he shows good durability for the position as well, he also gives you the added dimension to extend passing plays with his mobility of avoiding would be tacklers, and once he breaks containment on the run he is a very dangerous and instinctive runner who shows the speed to get up field and gain significant yardage
He has excellent mechanics and foot work throwing the ball despite the lack of time he receives to throw the ball consistently, he has a natural fluid motion when setting up in the pocket, with a zip on his passes that is rare to see, he has a better than average touch on his passes, and his ball handling technique and skills are top notch
He posses the knack for accurately delivering and placing balls in the best position for his receivers to make optimal yardage after the catch, and has the arm strength you look for to make any completion on the field, including the ability to throw the ball accurately across the field, a lot of quarterbacks lack the arm strength to do so which will limit a offenses ability to attack all parts of the field, and with his versatility to throw effectively either in the pocket or on the run makes him a threat to any defense
In this upcoming season this is a must player to watch for, a true playmaker with a lack of exposure who has the ability to be a Top 10 pick in the upcoming draft!

He has the size you look for to stand strong in the pocket, has the arm strength and touch on a variety of passes needed to lead his team down field, he is also a very efficient passer, in that he has a good touchdown to interception ratio
He is a patient quarterback in the pocket, that has excellent decision making skills, that has the mobility and smooth movement in the pocket to keep plays alive and make plays on the run, he is a quarterback that prefers to throw first and make things happen with his feet second, he looks to keep his eyes down field to complete the pass first
When his option is to scramble for yardage he has the versatility and skill set to do so, he is a quick decision maker in this department, when all possibilities to throw are limited to none, he quickly tucks the ball down and becomes a dangerous threat on the run
With his combination of size, decision making, confidence on the field, and athletic ability he has the potential to be a franchise quarterback at the next level
The one thing I would like him to work on is his delivery, he looks to have a hitch in his throw before delivering the ball, other than that the ceiling is very high for this player
After further evaluation, I still question the hitch in his throwing motion along with not having the proper foot work when throwing the ball, at times he throws off balance or not following through on his passes
I am starting to question his pocket presence, because once the pass rush begins to close in around him he tends to look for the pressure which keeps him from looking down field for the completion
BRADY QUINN:
He is a player at the quarterback position that shows the high potential for the next level
He has the prototype size and skills for the quarterback position, who is a better than average athlete, with the quick decision making you look for
You can tell he has all the intangible skills down pat, with his calm and poised play in the pocket, he shows he has command of the offense with the confidence he displays in his quick decisions, and the way he looks over the field going over his receiver progressions
He throws a nice tight spiral, with good velocity, and his ball placement on his throws allow his receivers to maximize their (YAC) or yards after catch, and his leadership for his teams offense shines through on the field for all to see
However, I would like to see his accuracy improve on his deeper throws, and he is somewhat limited in his escapeability skills when his protection around him breaks down
With all that said his upside at the quarterback position is very high, he is your classic in the pocket thrower, with laser accuracy and placement on the close to intermediate passes, he has a very bright future at the collegiate level and potentially at the next level
