USC fires baseball coach for NCAA violations

Mods didn't see this anywhere, please delete if redundant, but apparently Pat Haden fired baseball coach Frank Cruz for knowingly violating the Countable Athletically Related Activities Rule or CARA. I believe this is the rule Rich Rod got in trouble for and I believe it is one of the most abused rules out there. IMO it is why some people's redshirt freshman QB's look like Mariotta, or win a heisman and other people's have a more gradual learning curve. This makes three athletic programs that have bent the rules at U$C in recent years. The extent of Lack of Institutional Control is apparently best observed in the rearview mirror after the clean-up has already begun and the guilty party is cooperating. Translation: slap on the wrist.

Pat Haden seriously needs to take control cause all of these violations are getting out of control
