Anyone else see the defense throwing fits trying to defend AA and Aldridge in the I?

Pick your poison.

Yeah Schwap is too big of a stud to take out and you can't really put two tailbacks in the I

Yeah, I was mentally debating the two. I try to pin down Charlies offense, and just when I think I've got it, it changes again.

Allen in the slot. You can motion him into the backfield, or make a LB or safety try to cover him in space.

Schwapp looks very top heavy. I wonder if he's filled out on the bottom since his injury.

Put Prince and AA in the backfield, in the WCO split formation, and run the USC Reggie Bush wheel route with both of them. He, He, He

Or put Prince and AA in the slot in a four wide out set with Aldridge in the back. Who would you put the most focus on if your the defense.

Uh oh !! Scary isn't it.

does anyone know about Allen as a receiver? It'd be great to motion him out, but any clue how he is as a route runner/receiver?

He is in the NFL by this time, or he is pursuing an acting carrer...remember we have Him for one more year, we have those studs for 3 or 4

it just seems as soon as a kid commits people are benching starters and putting the freshman in i just wanted to make sure that we wern't doing that here. i agree in the future it is going to be scary though.

I won't speak for the others, but I'm projecting further out. 08 and beyond.

I'm projecting further out, when Allen gets significant PT.

He probably doesnt see the field that much next year.

I'm completely with you on this one. But it's fun to speculate about the future and the upside it brings.

i agree the future is bright for our back field. hopfully we can run into the same issue that USC has with a lot of depth. but i will cross that bridge when we get to it.

He'll be the starting tailback next year. That doesn't mean the others can be utilized and play an increased role. With a new Qb, a very green line and even greener WR's, I suspect they will have to lean on the running game a bit more. Depth and diversity will come in handy.

When I say Darius will be the starter, that doesn't mean his percentage of carries won't go down. But I think he'll still get the most. Which at this point he should.
