So on Saturday when UNC was playing Kentucky in basketball a few thoughts came to mind.
1.) This is great. 2 of the most historic playing each other for the 11th straight season.
2.) This is one reason why I favor college basketball to football. There are numerous great out of conference games each and every year.
3.) Is there anyway possible that the NCAA could encourage football teams to schedule games like this constantly? I know we get the occasional home and homes, but i'm talking every single season you have quality Non conference matchups.
This isn't meant to bash football cause i love it, but i love the fact that in NCAAB teams schedule out of conference. Now I realize that the system allows it and that there are exceptions to this and that NCAAB teams do schedule cupcakes, but i'm not asking for a Non conference filled with great programs. Just 1 or 2 in NCAAF constantly every year would make me happy...
I realize with the current system this is highly unlikely.
But does anybody have any ideas so there are more meaningfull, competetive and intruiging non conference matchups?
Just thought this could be a fun coversation
