I was able to make the Notre Dame coaching clinic again this year. There were many good presenters this year with the likes of Tuberville and Alvarez. Overall, the clinic was great. I was really interested to see the new coaches that we added to the mix for the upcoming season.
I was really impressed with all of the new coaches and it seems that they all have a great deal of football knowledge along with the drive to be successful. I really think that you all on Irish envy will be pleased at the progress our OL have achieved since last season. I also feel that you will see an energized and ready to run backfield under there new RB coach.
It was great seeing the intensity bar raised this year over last years practices that I seen. I know the team is moving closer and closer to where you guys want them to be. The D is looking excellent and Hart brings a lot of experience to the Dline that I think will anchor this years D.

Coach, what were you thoughts on the LB's, and how you see Manti Te'o fitting in, whether you think Toryan will anchor the Middle LB spot, and how did Filer look in scrimmages (word has it he's not progressing as fast as we'd like).

Toryan looked good, the defense really looked good. They kind of surprised me. The backers all looked great and were swarming all over the place. I do see manti contributing though, not because of what we lack but he's so good. Another lb I look to make an immediate impact at backer is Zeke Motta. We're looking really deep at the linebacker position. I'm sure once they look at film and grade these guys there's gonna be some separation but for the 1st scrimmage I was impressed. The spring game will be a good indicator on the whole picture. But they all looked good when I was there.

The OL really good great. I was watching the drills DVD and they were firing off the ball and really getting it done. Your not going to see confusion but a focused and well prepared group. I'm pretty excited about the season starting.

Manti will be on the 2 deep by game 1 but I don't see him starting the 1st one. I think he'll play a lot and contribute early. He fits in but we looked good at lb. I really liked Motta too, the lbs looked strong and ready.
