I saw this on II and I thought it was a good read, and it might make for some interesting conversation so I'm reposting it over here.
Originally posted by utahND: I heard many people mention the subject so I will try to give some helpful information for my fellow ND fans. Human Growth Hormone,(HGH) is the prefered drug for pro athletes and college athletes alike. There isnt any successful testing method out there for HGH. HGH isnt an anabolic steroid, I think steroids are becoming a thing of the past unless they are a designer steroid which is usually undetectable on steroid tests. The team doctor got exposed for ordering $150,000 worth of HGH last year on his credit card from a company in Florida. He says they werent for the players which I find impossible to believe. I would say the majority of the NFL are on HGH. Its almost becoming a requirement for most positions. If taking HGH under a Doctors provision means helping them get that multi-million dollar contract its hard to blame them sometimes. The tests testing steroids have to know what kind of steroid they are looking for to catch it so they arent always too successful in catching the cheaters. Ive used steroids a few times and they work wonders. Im 6 foot 2 and 205 pounds and I was benching 225 pounds 20 times after 2 cycles of Winstrol and deca-durabolin which are 2 kinds of steroids and was maxing out around 375 pounds. Performing enchancing drugs make an enourmous difference in your athletic perfromance and we have seen that over the years. Pro atletes are becoming bigger, faster, and stronger almost overnight. We have 260 pound linebackers who run a 4.7 40 which is physically impossible for the natural athlete, IE Shawn Merriman. Also there are many types of steroids, some for speed, some for endurance, some for strength, and some for size. Also most athletes use more than one steroid at a time to get the best results which is called stacking. The stuff Rafeal Palmeiro got caught with is called Winstrol which is for strength and speed. Thats why he didnt look all jacked up. Unfortunately pro sports is entertainment and we often look the other way when we see athletes doing super human things or looking like a professional bodybuilder because they are more entertaining. You have to ask yourself, is it the athletes fault or the organizations running the sports. I put more blame on the organizations such as MLB and bud Seleg who knew it was going on and looked the other way. Unfortunatley performance enchancing drugs have become part of sports almost like Gatorade is. I think its at the point of no return now. I hope Im wrong though.
