The NBA is the only sport in the world I can think of off the top of my head where music is played during the action. The worst music they play isn't the recent stuff (they used to play 'In da Club' every 20 seconds), but the annoying circus music.
Is the sport dependent on music to make up for crowd volume? I've been to a few games and the crowd has always made some noise, so I don't see the logic in it. Nor is it likely to entertain anyone.
