Sam Young, the shining star

If there was anything to look at and smile about yesterdays game was Sam Young. He dominated the UM all american, one of the best defensive ends in the country all day long. Wow, is this kid special. I cannot wait till we get all these big studs on the OL in the next couple years. Forget about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very true. And don't forget about Casey Cullen. Not only did he deserve this year's scholarship but I predict he will be playing on Sundays.

Maybe I missed something but it seemed that the TE (Carlson) was kept in to block on Young's side on many occasions.That tells me that CW doesn't want to leave him alone. If I have the stomach to watch the game again I'll focus on Young.

Yeah not to take anything away from Sam Young but Carlson and Walker helped him out a lot and I even noticed that ND tried to double up his side to offer more protection. He did however play solid for a freshman on such a grand scale.

His goal is to bash any player recruited by Ty and praise any player recruited by Weis.

I doubt he even watched the game. If he did, he is talking about the one time they (NBC) focused in on Young and even then, McConnell was there providing help.

Young will be great though, reminds me of Harris when he started as a Freshman in 2003

However I do think Young will be great in the future but yes, Carlson was kept in to help Young out most the game. I was hoping to see more 2 TE sets, freeing up Carlson and having Freeman provide the help...

but really, nothing was working yesterday

I'm not hijacking anything, I'm agreeing with them, its obvious you didn't watch the game and have no clue what you are talking about.

I haven't rewatched the game either. But the times that I did focus on Sam Young he seemed to be holding his own well. I would really like to go back and look at his run blocking though.

That was - Sam Young (same as saying minus Sam Young). I am standing by what I'm saying and staying consistant. My fault for being a little vauge with that punctuation.

Sam Young is the best offensive linemen we have right now. He should be a 1st team All-American now. He doesn't let people by him.

I agree wiht Irish4life. I also took notice of Sam Young. He didn't have that much help even though charlie said he woul before the game. And by the way Harris didn't start until half way through the season his freshman year.
