Who pay's for the visit the family or the school?

I believe the school is allowed to pay for an official visit, but the recruit is on his own for an unofficial. That's what I was led to believe by a buddy of mine, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

The school does if it's an official visit, the family does if it's an unofficial visit. The NCAA heavily regulates official visits. Each recruit can only take 5 and I believe they must come after Sept 1st of their Sr. year, and they may only take one per school. Then schools can only host 56 official visits.

Hawaii does not allow official visits and I believe most of their recruiting is done over the phone and computer/texting. Because the expense is too high for their coaching staff to constantly be flying to the mainland.

Hawaii spends about 50 grand per year on recruiting. At least, that's what I thought the coach said.

all kidding aside, I'd take officials to miami, los angeles, las vegas, chicago and new york city.
