Poinsettia Bowl!!???

A new bowl game has been added at the end of the college football season. It is the Poinsettia Bowl, and will be played in San Diego.

"The Poinsettia Bowl will match a team from the Mountain West Conference against an at-large team. The Poinsettia Bowl, licensed last week by the NCAA, has received support from the Western Athletic Conference, Conference USA and Navy."- Fox Sports Net

"The Poinsettia Bowl will be played Dec. 22 at Qualcomm Stadium. It will be run by the same officials who will then stage the Holiday Bowl on Dec. 29."- Fox Sports Net

Jesus Christ, another bowl? PLAYOFF, PLEASE!!!! First the NCAA said that the teams couldnt play more that 10 games with academics and classes. Now the teams are up to 12 games. LIARS!! They can produce a playoff, they just dont want to. This bowl crap is ridiculous.

I say we get rid of the BCS, and just use the AP poll, which is the one that matters anyway. ESPN can shove their poll.

As for the bowls: how about we say you are only eligible for a bowl if you're in the AP's top-25 at the end of the regular season, and have 12 bowl games. And how 'bout we play them all on January 1st. I think that would fix everything.

so wait, that means that over 1/2 of all D-1 schools will play in bowl game now, doesn't it? I mean, I thought before it was perfectly even and exactly 1/2 of the teams got to play in the postseason, now 2 more will be in. Just further reduces the accomplishment and makes all bowls seem more worhless.

Is anyone going to care? Unless it is ND, I do not watch bowl games that are playing before January 1. The Poinsetta Bowl? Yawn.
