Today is more than the Indy 500, a day with the fam at the beach, a barbecue, or mowing the lawn (even anger over the EV/EG affair). I'm passing along my thanks to those that have made the ultimate sacrifice and to their families and friends. Words cannot show the amount of appreciation and honor I have for your sacrifices.

Garry Owen, Semper Fi, and Hoo-Rah.

Hoorah back brother. I would also like to take a moment for those that have made the ultimate sacrifice. Some of my very close friends were lost at war too soon, and not a day goes by that I do not reflect on my experiences with them. This day is one that I dread throughout the year because of the many emotions it stirs up for me. Normally the emotions manifest as survivors guilt, and unanswered questions about why them and not me. Although painful, I know that the feelings I am faced with on this day are dim in comparison to those loved ones they have left behind.

Through all of this I find strength knowing that these men are now looking down upon me and I strive to live right by them.

To the Marines that I served alongside and all others that have made the Ultimate sacrifice: I will never forget!
