The fact that the Sugar Bowl is in La. and we are playing LSU.

It's really, really whinny.... We are better than that. Teams do it all the time, it's reality. In fact, last year three BCS games were won by teams playing in their opponents home state. PSU in the Orange Bowl over FSU, WVU over Georgia in the Sugar Bowl(it was played in Atlanta due to Katrina) and finally Texas over USC in the Rose Bowl. So please let's use other reasons why ND will win or lose..

And here's another point. Most years, south Louisiana would be thrilled to have LSU is the Sugar Bowl.

But it's not most years. We need all the tourists we can get. The local Chamber of Commerce's dream matchup was Arkansas-Notre Dame. LSU won't bring many extra visitors to the city. So it's kind of a disappointment, in purely economic terms.

And while I can't promise you won't encounter some a**hole LSU fans, New Orleanians will make you feel very welcome.

Good point. They already live there. Why would they fill hotels when they can just drive in? This is a bad matchup for Nawlins.

And one other fact.....40K LSU fans are still going to be at the Rose Bowl (or at least until they can offload their tickets) and another 20K? will be at the Orange Bowl....

not a fact. LSU isn't allotted any tickets to the Rose Bowl or the Orange Bowl since they're not playing in it. The ticket "sales" were ticket requests and pre-sales. LSU will sell tickets they've given out to people that requested Sugar Bowl tickets, and will probably refund any money people paid for the right to Rose or Orange tickets.

Nah, they were pre-sales...like ND's.

The school sent me a sheet with a list of all potential bowls. I send in money, they send back what order does not get fulfilled (that was over a week ago)

Wish I could go.....just looked into it. I can't sit on a plane for 3 hours and it's a 20 hour drive so it looks like I'm out. I was really thinking about dumping my kids with my parents and coming down but I don't think I'm nuts enough to put in 40 hours of driving (actually more than that since it's 2.5 hours to my parents place). My wife would love to go and says I should just get some goofy pills to knock me out on the plane :)

Still...don't really have an extra 3 grand laying around so that makes the decision a bit easier. Too bad we don't still live in Atlanta.
