How pissed would you be if you signed up to play for a southern gentleman like Cutcliffe after winning 10 games and playing in the Cotton Bowl, only to get stuck with a wife-beating sleezeball like Orgeron and his alcholic staff?

This is the dumbest firing and hiring scenario of the year, hands down.

If Manning had another son, he'd probably come to ND, because of Cutliffe....

He does have another son, but unfortunately he's a reciever.

Do you mean Cooper, his eldest, or is there a fourth younger than Eli?

Great stuff. First to assistant off of the USC tree to fall flat on his face. This guy was a recruiting guru too.

There's another Manning?

Phil Simms other son Matt is a soph in high school right now. From everything I've read he sounds like the real deal.. I'm sure Phil will push him to play for Weis. No way he goes to Texas like his brother. Phil was very upset with everything at Texas.

I didn't know if he was older or younger. I assume the one you're talking about is the one I'm thinking of. I just know he did have 3 sons, but one was a WR.

Yeah, Matt lead his team the state title game but got shelled in it. He had a bunch of picks if I remember right. Still, not bad for a sophomore to even get there.

I never did get why Chris went to Texas. It did not seem like the right place for him, especially w/ Major Applewhite there ahead of him. Not to mention that offense does not suit quarterback development at all. It'd be cool if Matt went to ND in a couple of years. I'm sure either way, he'll make a better decision than Chris did, no matter where he winds up. As a Giants fan though, of course I'd love to have the son of Phil Simms under center in South Bend. That would be excellent.

I gotcha Aerosmith. Cooper is the oldest. He was a WR that went to Ole Miss and had to leave the team due to a rare spinal condition of some sort. He and Peyton rolled together in high school as a QB-WR duo. They were awesome. Had Cooper been playing, Peyton surely would have followed Archie and Cooper's footsteps to Oxford. It was Cutcliffe that swayed them to Knoxville in the end.

As for Simms' kid, I wonder if his high profile will be a fit for ND. Chris Simms showed up to Austin in a stretch limo to move into his dorm as a freshman. Is this Matt Simms kid a lefty?
