We've seen what the Irish running game can do vs. teams who have trouble defending the run (MSU & DUKE games). Stanford qualifies as a team that is vulnerable to both the run & pass game.

The question is will Weis pound the Cardinal w/ Hughes & Allen to set up play-action or will he not be able to resist by going to the pass early & often?

I hope he establishes the running game to set up JC and the play action. If not, it could be a long day as Stanford likes to blitz...a lot.

I think he'll start with the run. It worked pretty well last week, so why not stick with it.

IMO, he better or JC will have a long day on his ass. If I see the blindside blitzer come in untouched again, I'm gonna puke.

Might as well keep the bucket by your chair.

Every team knows they can do that and not get blocked.

Stanford is a very good pass-rushing team. I'm trying not to worry too much about what'll happen; I just want my kid to have a good time at his first-ever ND game.
